Walk from Millfield up to Mount Bright and down into the Pokolbin area to enjoy the fruits of the vine. MILLFIELD TO POKOLBIN 13.1 km (moderate) This is the second half of Hunter Wineries spur from Ellalong to Pokolbin - not officially Great North Walk. It is a lovely walk rewarded by visit to cellar doors in the Hunter wineries if you can't resist.

This was a full 6 hours at our pace (including lunch break). A very rewarding walk with lovely views over the Hunter Valley.
Thoroughly recommended walk!

Tips:
It took a bit of setting up - used 2 cars - left one car at Pokolbin Hunter Valley Gardens where there is plenty of parking and then left our other car at the side of the road near Shingle Gully Road. Some sections are reasonably steep and walking poles might be advisable for some walkers. As mentioned in the guide some of the waymarkers are obscured by vegetation so keep a sharp lookout. We used a map as well. For most of the last section along McDonalds Road there is a bike/footpath so you dont need to walk on the busy road except for some very short sections. The other road-walking sections are very quiet. We uploaded our walk and some photos to everytrail.com
