Once you gain height the track levels out and you get up close and personal with the sandstone cliffs before they eventually merge into a canyon only 20 meters wide and shrouded in ferns. Soon after you enter the Glow Worm Tunnel where you need a light of some kind- but be careful to be quiet and use as little light as possible so as not to disturb the worms (they're actually larvae). When you reach the other end you can keep going and pick up the Pagoda Trail which takes you through about 3 kms of forest that has many species of birds. Eventually it goes between a gap and heads left until it meets up with the original trail and you descend to Newnes again. Allow 4-5 hours, take water and your camera.
