The Diamond Head walk is one of the best short coastal walks in NSW. It offers wonderful views, whale watching vantage points, and a myriad of wildflowers during spring. This loop walk can be started at either the Diamond Head or Indian Head camp grounds. The walk takes in a variety of vegetation types including heath, casuarina, blackbutt and rainforest. Diamond Head was first spotted by Capt. James Cook in 1770, he mistook the shining quartz for diamonds. The walk offers magnificent views up and down the coast and back into the Camden Haven hinterland, with the Three Brother Mountains being prominent. Be sure to view Kylie's Hut, 200 meters from Indian Head camp ground. This area was inspirational to author Kylie Tenant during the 1930s and 40s.
