The view from the peak of Font Blanc is spectacular! There are several paths to get to the peak and we chose to use the northwest route for our ascent. Once you pass 7000 feet, the trail appears to have been washed and is impossible to find. We ended up with a direct ascent through loose rocks and boulders for the last 2200 feet. Taking the southeast descent, it was much easier to find the trail, although the yellow trail markers look very much like the yellow lichen that grows here. Still a beautiful and very challenging hike!
