Was an extremely good climb and good weather to boot. It’s not all that physically exhausting however it can get extremely cold with winds on the final accent. Good clothes and gloves are a must. Doers do and triers try

Great hike with some beautiful views. Coming down wasn’t the greatest, but it never is. I would definitely do it again if I had the money and time.

Feb 2018 summit. Lemosho Route in 6 days, vs the recommended 7-8 days.

Amazing very difficult

First day stair climb 5 hours to 1st camp

Summit Day Jan. 21, 2018
When they say "Pole, Pole" listen! This is not a race, but a physical and mental marathon. You will be on a rollercoaster ride every step of the way. I found the key was to relax and enjoy the up and except the downs.
Wow!!!
Crew Treks nailed the operations!

Spent Christmas 2017 on Kili with both college aged sons on 7 day Lemosho route. What a wonderful experience with beautiful landscapes and plant life. 5 days of moderate hiking 5-7 hours was engaging and great fun. Summit day was difficult and demanding for 7 hours to the summit and so rewarding up top with glaciers all around and views of the curvature of the earth. Then 8 hours down to 10,000 ft was just mind and body numbing. Wonderful people along the way and great food as well. Used Diamox and had no alt symptoms. Trip of a lifetime, great conversations without social media distractions! Highly recommend the journey!

Amazing experience and a real challenge! Did the 6 days and 5 nights trek and should have done an extra day for acclimatization. Overall I did summit even though it took a bit longer than expected. Breathing in thin air is hard and it was super windy. Pictures did come out great since there was no fog and the sky was clear.

Huge achievement to get up here! Loved it all! Experiencing the changes in the climate and the environment were amazing! Freezing nights, and the days slowly got colder! Summit night was hard but well worth it!best experience of my life!

great experience!

beautiful view and good weather. cold during the nighr

Absolutely amazing trip. Took advantage of the 6 day ascent/2 day descent so as to take advantage of time to acclimatize to altitude. Did hike unmediated although I became profoundly dizzy and hypoxic after about 17,500 ft. You CAN ascend faster but we chose this route for beauty of the jungle as well as time to really take in the hike. I could go on and on. A trip of a lifetime for me.

Hike of a lifetime. We did it in 5 days and loved the route and the ability to do it quickly based on our limited time in Tanzania. We used Summit Africa and couldn't have been happier.

I did the Lemosho route in 8 days with a group of 11 people. Kilimanjaro is an incredible mountain, and this route is excellent if you'd like a little less traffic and like to see the mountain from many sides. The porters and guides are amazing!

Loved this route. Great if you have others in your group who may need more time to acclimate to the altitude; depending on the time of year it can get very cold during the nights and especially on the summit. (My water was freezing in the hydration bladder so I had to hike with the bladder inside my jacket) Choose a local outfitter to guide your group, it provides much needed employment to the people who live near here. We went with Zara Tours and they were great!

...shortest but toughest route...there was no one else at our starting trail head for a reason...6 days total up and down including 1 acclimation day...

The Lemosho Route is magical. I completed it in 6-days. I would encourage you to begin your summit at 4:00 am to arrive at Uhuru Peak around 10:00 AM. The extra time will allow you to add a second expedition to the Reusch Crater and Ash pit. Descending from Uhuru Peak into Crater Camp, and trekking across Reusch Crater to arrive at the Ash Pit was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Most tour operators and guides will attempt to leave base camp between midnight and 2:00 AM so you can see sunset; however soon after you will leave the mountain and miss out on the entire crater zone. Trust me, you want to get as close to the volcano as possible. It's extraordinary. I'm happy to answer any questions!

WOW! Myself and two other girls (ages 30, 30 & 25) did this hike in 6 days. The views were stunning and all three of us summited. The first few days were, physically moderate but the altitude and bouts of stomach sicknesses made it difficult for some of us. The weather ranged from sun to rain to clouds and on summit night we had a blizzard. Summit night was incredibly difficult. 6+ hrs of what seemed like a vertical ascent in the pitch black of night. But the blizzard cleared and we could see the stars above and Moshi town below. Reached Stella point at sunrise and the peak about 45 minutes after. 10/10 would do this hike again. Be careful which company you book with and ask questions about meal tents and portable toilets. Some companies provide different amenities. (There are toilets at each campsite but they vary in quality and when you are already nauseous...well your own personal one may be desirable) just don't be scared to ask questions. ENJOY THE HIKE!
