Fantastic trail for trail running! The trail is packed dirt with some pavement in some areas. Start at Neue Forch to run (slightly) downhill. There is a public bathroom at the tram station.

I also went from Sellenbüren, but there is no public parking at the location indicated by E Skill so I had to park in the lot on the main street in Sellenbüren. This only added 5 minutes to the hike, however, and I think this is a great way to get up the mountain if you have your own car. Very quiet and lots of stairs. 35 minutes to get to the top and the views are awesome. I had a bratwurst and some homemade apple juice from a stand at the top, but there are also a couple nice restaurants with views if you want to stay longer. The trail at the top is more like a road with streetlights and many more people. A great diversion from Zurich.

This alternative trail I took starts by parking the car at this address: Hüttenrain 46 8143 Sellenbüren Switzerland And then hiking up. This is you are driving and want to park your car somewhere instead of figuring out transit. In my case I had a rental car so I wanted to not have to pay for parking somewhere. The view at the top is phenomenal! One of the best I have seen and I have summited a number of mountains in the Pacifc Northwest of Canada and USA, granted it was a clear and sunny day so weather might hamper the view. I paid 5 euros to get to the view point tower at the top.

For hiking the tour is nice. But for mountain biking the route choice is not ideal. The first 200 hm from Bachscheidi (Tössscheidi) are steep and you have to fight with big, round pebbles. Most of us will push there. From the Strahleggstrasse to Tierhag the path from behind the Sennhütte on foot is nice, but sometimes too heavy with the bike and most of us prefer to take the main road to the Tierhag from a corner further up the Strahleggstrasse. The climb is still crisp enough. The most idiotic thing is to take the West Ridge from Tierhag on the Schnebelhorn. You can only partially push that and you have to carry the bike a lot. Here is the up to the first 20m about horizontal trail from Tierhag direction Schindelberghöhi beautiful drive. Shortly before the Schindelberghöhi you reach the south ridge of the Schnebelhorn and it is actually about 50% easy to drive and the rest can be pushed - no need to carry. From Schnebelhorn summit, the tour is beautiful for those who master technical S2.

On vacation and the locals recommended this hike, Uetliberg Mountain, the highest mountain Peak in Zurich. Started from the Albisguetli Trailhead (from Tram 13) and immediately you’re trekking uphill the entire way up, including the set of stairways near the peak! I was impressed with local elders, they were trekking like nothing. Great hike and best of all there are four (4) natural spring water stations. Total Garmin statistics; 3.66 RT mileage and 1,454’ steep elevation gains. Lastly, it cost CHF 5 to go to the top of the tower. Well worth it, the views are amazing!

Lovely views of Zurich!

A wonderful trail. I started the loop from the north and this is a better option. first moderate path uphill, through wonderful alpine meadows and a bit of forest. very fast wonderful views that get better. From the top also wonderful, panoramic view. the second part of the trail goes downwards through more 'civilised' road, with guesthouses and shelters. nevertheless very enjoyable walk along the stream with a waterfall.

The trail has wonderful, scenic views. I would rate it as easy. The huge drawback during the nice weather is crowd of people. Since the trail is easy (little children, old people doing great, no problems with baby carriage etc.) it is hard to find quite place.

Amazing views ❤️

Gear trail, rain and fog blocked the views. Recommend going a clear day for pics

Go Clockwise. At the start there are some parking lots with the dog club (until 5pm). The quellenweg is great and they explain how the water is captured and distributed between Dietikon and Baden. The Aegelsee is always nice and calm. Then there are some long easy parts unit you turn. The track after turning is just awsome. There are many ways to shorten the trip. E.g to pass trough Heitersberg. The you must see the tower :-).

Not too hard to do except for maybe the stairs for some people. But at least there were stairs as opposed to just steep hills. Great views of the city; just realize that if you hike this on a weekend in August apparently it'll sound like a warzone with the number of people hunting/shooting recreationally all around. That aspect was pretty strange.

In a beautiful day a wonderful relaxing experience.

Best part about this trail is that its in the city. Very easy to get to if youre in Zürich. Has some nice views of lake Zürich, and on a clear day can see the alps to the south
