Incredible hike, beautiful landscapes, featuring the new bridge to cross on the other side in the middle of the mountains, not recommended for people who fear heights though but other than that it’s perfect!

Quite steep and in the upper parts pretty exposed without not that much to hang on. Pretty loose / dry by fall. If you have a vertigo in exposed parts like me, you will make it up to photo spot that is on map (circa 2200m). Its cool spot with a lot of view. Going more up to reach very top needs being very comfortable on exposed trail. Top reachable in 2-3 hours.

One of the best trails I’ve ever walked on. Great view on the dam, skrrt.

Really nice trail! We did it the other way around and we think that’s a better experience because the beauty builds up nicer. Path is rocky which looks much better than a clean path. Very little shade so apply your sunscream often. The peak in the middle is het most beautifull and gives you amazing views on both sides!! Can tell you more but that will spoil the experience.

We did this hike on August 24, 2019. The trail was completely clear all the way up to Edelweiss and beyond. No issues with any bridges. It was an incredible day with great views of the Matterhorn. Highly recommend this hike!

As of August 5, all direct routes up to Edelweiss are still closed. they seem to be actively working on repairing the bridge though. We took a route through Hubel, which added a decent amount of time (maybe an hour?) and ascent onto the route as you have to backtrack and descend to Edelweiss. From there, trail conditions are great. The hike is gorgeous, as all previous reviews have said. More wildflower varieties than I could count along the whole route, incredible views throughout. Weather was pretty varied for our trek, so recommend packing for sun, rain, and wind. Heaviest rain of the day happened to hit right as we reached Trift, so we had to stop in at the hotel for coffee and fresh baked apple pie :) We also spent a good amount of time hanging out with a big flock of some very wooly sheep on the upper ridge. Overall, fantastic hike. Highly recommend.

I found the App does not edit well. It kept giving the start point as my end point with no way for quick edit. I request a refund within 30 day period and AllTrails does not honor their sales agreement on requested refund within 30 days. My friend on hike used Gala GPS and it worked better and was free.

I'm not done yet, but this is beautiful! As per the previous comment, the bridge is passable.

July 26 2019 - unfortunately the flooding on July 24 2019 that impacted the village also took out the bridge over the river 15 minutes in if you're starting from Grampis. the trail is closed and sectioned off. the direction signs are covered as well. your hike stops there and you will turn back. I will try to attach photos. the other way is to go in "reverse" order that is through zmutt. this I presume will increase your total distance and total hike time.

Really great hike. Not an easy one so come prepared, but it’s very worth the effort.

Great hike, it’s worth going up and back vs gondola and hiking back down.

David hit the nail on the head. It’s an incredible hike with beautiful sights in all directions. Didn’t get to see the Matterhorn because of the weather, but I can imagine it would be spectacular. That said, this trail is nowhere near hikeable yet. After 2 weeks spent hiking some gnarly Swiss trails, this was by far the toughest and I certainly had butterflies in my stomach for awhile. I wouldn’t hike this until at least late July and you should still come well equipped and start early on a good weather day.
