Very nice course, quite exposed. It goes through pastures and forests, once you arrive you will have a magnificent view of the Alps. Remember to take water because the ride can be very trying in summer and there is no water.Show more

Access to the hike is from Weggis, by cable car. Once arrived in Rigi Kaltbad do not miss to visit the thermal baths built by Mario Botta. They are breathtaking and offer a magnificent view of Lake Lucerne. From Rigi to the top of Rigi Kulm there is only 400 meters of elevation left to admire the lake panorama.Show more

Length: 10.9 mi • Est. 7 h 16 m
This hike can be done in two ways. The first for athletes: a sustained walk of eight nine hours and a nice vertical drop of 1300 meters between Greppen and the top of Rigi. The view is breathtaking over Lake Lucerne. A gentle continuation to Goldau. The return will be by train or bus from Goldau. The second way would be to take two days and sleep in one of the hotels in Rigi Kaltbad and enjoy the sumptuous thermal baths designed by the star of Swiss architects, Mario Botta. Very nice ballad that will take you from the shore of the lake to the medieval city center. Don't miss the Transport Museum before heading to the old town. Then you cross the Chapel Bridge, which measures 112 meters and dates back to the Middle Ages and is made up of painted triangular panels. Experts call it the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe. The pedestrian zone of the old town hides many historic houses decorated with frescoes. Crossing the Spreuerbrücke is a feast for the eyes from the 15th century. Between 1626 and 1635 Kaspar Meglinger painted 67 panels depicting the theme of the dance of death. Strolling through the squares and sitting on the terraces of the old town are obviously part of a city visit.Show more
