This hike makes you really feel like you're in Switzerland, from the stunning views to the constant background ringing off cowbells. I took the cog car to the top of the mountain first (Rigi Kulm) to take in the views, then started the panorama trail from there. I did one-way to Rigi Scheidegg, and took the cable car back down the mountain. Make sure to time your hike so that you get to Scheidegg before the last cable car leaves!

Really great trail! We started in Greppen and went all the way to Goldau. We skipped the Rigi Kulm portion (summiting Mt Rigi) which probably saved about 2 hrs. In total it took us about 6 hrs. We skipped the summit because the weather was not clear/foggy and we did not want to make the trip without the view. The Greppen to Rigi Kaltbad portion is tough (all uphill) after that it is pretty easy from Rigi Kaltbad to Goldau (all downhill). Travel was easy to Greppen (bus and train) and from Goldau (train) - we were coming from Zug. The trail was really well marked so we did not take any wrong turns. Would definitely bring snacks and water. There are a few places to fill your water especially after Rigi Kaltbad, but before that not really any places.

Exposed trail for most of the way. I took Gandola for the last stretch to complete because of dehydration on a very hot and humid day as well as time constraints. The hike has breathtaking views. The estimated time for the entire hike is about 5 hrs, but weather conditions can affect the total time taken. From Kriens to Frakmuntegg is a cable car that takes you more than half-way and then transfer to Gandola for the remainder of the journey. Since the hike is steep from Frakmuntegg, it is the difficult part of the hike. The advantage on this hiking route is that one can do the whole hike or the two halves depending on conditions and fitness level. Last Gandola leaving Pilatus is 5:30 pm during summer months. Hence it must be taken into account in the planning of this hike unless one intends to hike up and down.

This wonderful ridge trail overlooking Lake Lucerne can be either Easy or Moderate, depending on whether you avail yourself of the myriad alternatives to the main route. That route is packed dirt and approved for wheelchairs and strollers, but several of the alternates are steep and offer dramatic cliff views of the lake and towns below. We did a 9.2-mile loop that totaled 1500' elevation. It can be easier or anything in-between. Save this one for a clear day since as the name implies it's all about the views.

Should be rated as easy. This is a barrier-free trail, which means strollers and wheelchairs can do it. Not sure how it got a “moderate” rating.

We took this route on a recommendation from hotel and agent at information station. It climbs mostly through the woods. Past the gondola station 2/3 up the trail descends through farmers pastures and then climbs again. The views along here what few there are - mostly to northest and south, no views of Lake Lucerne! I was disappointed in this recommendation! If you want beautiful views of the lake and alps take the route that begins in Alpnach!! We came down that way - absolutely no question which is the best approach! I cannot fathom why any local would recommend the other route !?!? Also would NOT consider this hard- tedious at times, but not hard

Easy-to-hike trail surface with panoramic views. Die Schweiz ist wunderschön.

Great trail, mostly along a gravel road so it’s in good shape and perfect for all hikers. Pretty minor and steady incline, very clearly labelled

This is a very strenuous hike (especially if you're not used to the altitude), but well worth it. The views are amazing and I even saw a mountain goat run across the trail. Bring lots of water, but there is a pump half-way up.
