It is the smallest of the three lakes of Seeland or the Land of the three lakes of the Swiss plateau located at the foot of the first chain of Jura. The main tributary is the Broye river. Length: 7.1 mi • Est. 3 h 51 m
The trail starts from Musersbergli station at the top of the Jaun funicular. From there a very beautiful Gastlosen loop is available to you with the summit of Wandflue as the highest point. It is recommended to turn clockwise for better lighting in the mountains. Plus, it makes the steep portions more difficult uphill rather than downhill. Some parts are on wide roads, some on narrow stretches in thick forest, others on flat trails through meadows filled with wildflowers, and others on rocky granite above the Gastlosen (near de Wolfsort, at the southern end). Lots of variety in terms of foot, scenery, etc. From the south-eastern part of the trail you can see the Swiss Alps to the south-east which is very impressive. There are places to eat in Grat (east side) and Soldatenhaus (west side).Show more

On one side you have a view of the lakes of Neuchâtel and Bienne with the Juras chain in the background, on the other the Lac de Murten with the Alps in the background. What more can we really see. All locations have very well done explanatory panels. Everything can be visited and several sites have been renovated. The caves (which are man-made) can also be visited, be careful however there are 200m of galleries, a flashlight essential. The route does not pose any major difficulties. https://www.regionmurtensee.ch/fr/V799/sentier-historicalShow more

Very nice walk along the Jogne river which can be extended by a tour of the lake. Some portions of the path go through tunnels. The trail begins not far from a famous Swiss chocolate brand and as you are in Gruyère, don't miss out on tasting the double cream of Gruyère with local meringues at the "chez Boudji" bar. https://www.la-gruyere.ch/fr/P4557/buvette-chez-boudjiShow more
