beautiful easy ride

The Kungsleden trail is the most beautiful and exciting hike I've ever done. The nature is very scandinavian and breathtaking. Wide horizons, turquoise lakes, a lot of reindeer, and cozy refuges with kind staff made this trip special. I did the part from Abisko to Nikkaluoakta in 2016. It was about 100km in 6 days. The weather was mild and beautiful. I recommend taking 7-8 days for relaxed hiking. Theres no need for heavy backpacks as food can be bought and prepared cheaply in the refuges, and water can be drunk from most lakes and streams.

I only did about ten miles. Very nice path. Many backpackers from all over Europe.

Hiked this trail in 2018 as organized by Fjallraven, but the whole trail is public so can be hiked outside of the organization as well. 2/3 of the trail (the north-south section) is part of the much larger 'Kingstrail' of Lapland Sweden (Kungsleden in Swedish and Alltrails has a separate trail for that one) and the whole are is supported by mountain cabins (called SFT stations) roughly every 15-20km or so.

The event is walked every year in August and includes 2000 participants spread over 3 start days (8 start groups) and a lot of requests are made about distances, elevations etc so this trail really will help the community prepare for the event.

The hike itself is absolutely stunning, nature is wild and free here and the hills and low mountains provide for beautiful scenery. It is rough terrain and the trail is well marked, but often has a lot of rocks jutting out of the dirt/mud, so walking sticks are highly recommended. Swampy areas are traversed on wooden walkways and larger streams and rivers are crossed on metal bridges.

Although participants are not allowed to use the cabins, of course if you go by yourself and ditch the camping, you can hike from cabin to cabin and sleep in them. Best be sure to make reservations at the SFT in advance though. Camping itself is great though and apart from a small section at Abisko National Park, the entire area allows for setting up camp wherever you wish. Water is not a problem since the water streams are plentiful and clean. Many don't even use filter given how clean the water is, although we did always use a lifestraw bottle just to be sure.

There is a nice stretch along Skräbeån, but the rest is pretty dull. First part disturbed by heavy traffic, last part disturbed (very much) by the paper factory (smell, sight and sound).

Great roundtrip. Beautiful nature. Difficult when wet, but very rewarding!

Not so god

Början var rätt tråkig innan man kom ut i skogen och på landet. Vi tyckte kartan var dålig och gick därför fel två gånger. Men annars en härlig dagstur med varierande landskap.

Part of the long Bohus Trail (Bohusleden) this is a quiet walking area close to Gothenburg. Heavily forested with several ponds and waterfalls. Numerous side trails for the curious. During the summer there will be a lot of people having picnics. A favorite far a morning run, or cross country skiing in the winter. During winter "main" sections of the trail have lighting.

Pretty walk but the paper factory is a big negative. Whould be 5stars otherwise

Nice trip for an easy Sunday trip. At the end of the route there's an farm with goats, long haired cows and chicken and birds that you pass - and if your lucky you get a glimpse of the baby goats if you do the route at summer time.

A wonderful walk in the nature reserve, with spectacular colours in the oak trees. Coffee and a cinnamon bun in Hofsnäs afterwards = an excellent way of spending an autumn sunday.

A fantastic trail with alternate paths and roads. Quite hilly but so much fun!

The northern part around Dalstorp is in excellent shape and is around 7 km.

If you go in other directions it's easy to shorten the walk if you'd like by taking one of the many bridges to the opposite shore and then walk back.

A great trail to hike, especially in the area around "Baktrågens nature reserve" in the outskirts of Blidsberg. Use the bus to get to your starting point and hike for as long as you want, then take the bus back.

A hiking trail that passes through old hay-making and grazing meadows, over an extensive raised bog and through ancient forests. You will cross Kohesterberget and pass close to a 3,000 year-old barrow. On the west side of the hill, there is a camping lean-to/rest hut with a view over Lake Jogen. The animal life here is rich and elk and deer are common visitors. There are also a couple of fox dens and badger sets right next to the trail. You can take a diversion to a wolf pit before you reach Lake Jogen. Swimming in the lake is permitted. Several signs along the trail provide interesting information about the area’s nature and culture. The trail is marked with yellow markings. Boardwalks have been erected over the wettest parts, although the trail can become wet in some areas when it rains. If you want to keep your feet dry, we recommend wellies or walking boots.

A beautiful trail which leads you around the small village of Hyssna. The southern part is the most beautiful but also hardest part with many smaller up- and downhills.
Perfect for a longer trail run or hike. Can be shortened by taking one of the gravel roads which connects the trail from north to south.

Beautiful area and views around the quarry:)

Nice trail.. a little hard on the north part of the path

Lätt. 2,5h.

Lot's of wildlife (saw both roe deer and deer), beautiful woods. Walked it alone, took about 2,5 hours (was expecting 3-4 as advertised). I do recommend it, just remember to make some plans for the rest of the day :)
