8.5 Miles beautiful wilderness. Technical trail with a lot of roots and moraine. Challenging and rewarding.

We followed both Blekingeleden and Skåneleden and some other smaller trails. Starting off from Halens camping in Olofström, walking north. The trail offered a nice mix of gravel roads and forest trails, and some sections of smaller asphalt roads. There are some elevations. There were quite some clear cut areas which obviously are not much of a nature experience and also very open, otherwise the trail offers a lot shade. There are several shelters and campfires along trail, few of them have water wells (you need to boil the water before drinking). Since part of the trail is in nature reserve, dogs must be kept in leash.

Great trail, quite technical and gnarly. A lot of areas with logged wastelands. Beautiful lakes and forested areas make up for that. A lot of windfall but nothing that can be overcome. Great trail for a paced day hike. I we t out for an overnight stay. Perfect weekend getaway - not far off and yet remote.

Running

En jättefin led i vacker natur. Min favoritdel var den västra där de flesta sjöar är. Längre österut finns också många andra vandringsleder man kan ansluta till om man vill fortsätta in mot Herrljunga eller komma ner mot Eggvena och Fölene

I love this loop. It is very quiet, not difficult to walk, with clear signs, and you walk through various landscapes. My personal favourite!

Really nice, but wet when we went here. Could have something to do with the rain that poured down the entire night before.

Well labeled trail. Good boots are required due to stones and tree roots. Addition to original one is street walk on way back to a parking place.

Great loop trail around the entire Snogeholms Recreation Area. Snogelholm is the castle on the lake that you pass. The trail is mostly on hiking trails with an occasional forest road. There are a couple of towers that you can climb for a view and the trail passes both of the two largest lakes. There was a heard of wild boar and deer in the more secluded areas of the trail. The trail is very well posted with yellow markings and is about 16 Km long.

HikingGreat!

I have been lucky to have hiked lost of places in the world and after doing this with my wife, it is one of my top five. Great views and very nice huts. The people we met were also very nice. Frankly, I love chopping wood and getting water after a nice day of hiking. Both my wife and I are over 60 so not needing to carry a tent or heavy sleeping bags made the trip easy. I would not call this a hard walk but more of a enjoyable series of walks. If I were younger I would have done it without staying in huts now that I am older - hut-to-hut hiking is great.

This trail is as diverse as it gets: from the feel of ancient magical forests to mystical swamps to sandy beaches to climbing over rocks and being surprised by the stunning views on top of the mountains. It’s all there! You can pitch your tent in the designated areas if you want and wander around for days. Around the hotspots (slåttdalsskrevan and -berget) it can be a bit crowded, so make sure you arrive there before 9am or after 5pm. The trail is quite rocky and at some points steep and can be slippery if it rains. Just walking on the paths can take much of your concentration, so don’t forget to stop occasionally and take a look around. Dogs are allowed only on leash. If your dog is not used to climbing rocks it can be that you’ll have to carry it on some points of the trail. Same for children (except for the on leash part ;-) ) You can take drinking water from the creeks that are in the park. Just make sure it comes from a smooth running creek and you’ll be fine.

My wife and I completed the 2019 classic this past week. Such an incredible experience the views are beautiful. Water is plentiful and although folks drink directly from the streams I still recommend filtering. We saw several dead mice along the trail and near water so just be safe!
