El Teide is a volcano located in the Canary Islands at 3,718 meters of altitude. It is the highest point in Spain. There you will find the viewpoint of the fortress and the peak of Teide. In these viewpoints, hikers can see several islands and take magnificent photos. This route can be done in two days, spending the night in the Altavista refuge, for an unforgettable sunrise.
Teide is an active volcano and its last eruption was in 1909. There are many ways to climb the peak, but for them you must wear suitable footwear and reserve a free permit authorizing this route through the Teide National Park. Hikers will need to print the permit and show it to park staff at the beginning of the trail, along with an ID or passport.

The Altavista Refuge, located at 3,260 meters of altitude, is in the perfect point to enjoy the best sunrise in Tenerife, with the majestic shadow of the volcano projecting over the Atlantic Ocean.
The establishment has three bedrooms with a total capacity for 54 mountaineers, as well as toilets without shower, kitchen, storage room and infirmary. The stay is limited to one night after booking online. The overnight stay includes warm bedding, so users should not bring a sleeping bag.
