Starting from El Palmar, within the Teno Rural Park, you will pass through the village of Teno Alto until you reach the summit of Baracán. Before reaching Teno Alto you can see the famous Teide volcano in the distance. There is a bar and a food store to recharge in Teno Alto. You will be able to enjoy a heather and laurel forest unique in the Canary Islands thanks to its height and humidity. The views from the Baracán peak are priceless!Show more

Hike from the Mirador de Hilda. Beautiful views over several valleys. Course without difficulties. The only way to get back to the starting point is to take the road that winds up to Masca. There is no path between Santiago del Teide and Masca but the road is really beautiful.Show more

Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. The village is home to around 80 inhabitants. The village lies at an altitude of 600 m in the Teno mountains, which extend up to the northwesternmost point of Tenerife. High mountains surround the tiny village and there is a small peak near the village centre. Forests including cypresses and palm trees abound. The rocks and forests and a slope of about 70° to 75° angle lies westward. The village lies at the head of the Masca Gorge. The trail from the village down the gorge to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean is a popular, though strenuous, hiking route, which takes about 3 hours each way. Once you´ve reached the beach, you can decide whether to take a boat back to Los Gigantes or hike back up the trail. Hiking back up would be quite difficult. If you take the boat to Los Gigantes, you can take a taxi cab back to Masca. If you´re an early bird you´ll easily find a place to park your car. It is recommended to arrive at Masca before 9:30 AM. The twisty roads leading to the trailhead can be difficult to navigate when crowded later in the day. The gorge itself will typically be crowded on the weekends.Show more
