This trail sucks. The views suck. The footing sucks. Don’t do this trail.

The route shown isn't the full or only loop (it's for the Cortijo del Hornillo), and the complaints about the view change when you cross to the north side of the Genil. The route then becomes 22.5 km but the views are unbeatable with the back range in view at every turn. There's a steep ascent after crossing the river, a bit of route-finding past Refugio de la Cucaracha, and steep downhill down to the river at the back of the canyon before you turn to come back. https://treksierranevada.com/downloads/VeredaEstrellaLoop.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1UC-bERk2zns5WE6fZzUHSCmUpIFUZ4Mm5LR3qRey7KY4U5TRLi5X-_mU

Beautiful but overcrowded even in early March

Awesome trail, beautiful scenery, our expectations were definitely exceeded. It is a bit longer than what this app says, I recorded at just over 11 km. Best route is to take the 4 from the car park to the 31, at which point you will get to the top of a ridge, then turn left onto the 15, take this all the way to the top of the mountain, then continue on the 15 to the left (instead of right where you came from) which turns into the 5. You will then hit the 4, which is essentially a 3 km dirt road back to the car park

This was an absolute highlight of our trip. I recommend you make a reservation at the refugio altavista so you can hike up early and see the sunrise at the top of teide! You can either take the cable car up the night before and hike to the refugio OR you can hike up via the montaña blanca route. I recommend the cable car. Then at 4:30 AM, everyone wakes up at the refuge and walks up to the top to see the sunrise together - it’s incredible. From there you can either hike back down or take the cable car.

Great trail. Easy to follow. Very steep and continuous. High Altitude does play its part in making the route very tiring. You have the option of getting a cable car down from close to the top if you need it.

My 4 months pregnant wife and I, both in fairly good athletic shape, would rates this as moderately easy. A beautiful and exotic volcano experience. Highly recommend this is you can only do one hike, having this as our first one here on Tenerife, both of us were highly pleased with this experience.

We walked this trail with our six month old baby, so a bit slow. The path is good but be aware that there is nearly no shade so walking early or late is handy. No experience needed.

Good walk easy to do with friends and children. A nice way to discover the park in one afternoon !

Amazing hike! Went further than trail suggested — to Pico de Los Nieve! Bring sunscreen!!!

Good hike, it looks like everyone taking left path uphill and than when coming back down they all go longer way. But we did opposite and I think is better. Well worth for amazing views of Caldera, west coast and vulcanos to the south. If you have a car just drive right to the sign at the beginning of path.
