The Carros de Foc, or chariots of fire, are considered by some nature lovers as the most beautiful route in the Pyrenees mountains and perhaps in all of Europe. It is a classic circular route and an ambition of many mountain lovers.
This trail in the Arán valley and Pallars region is part of a multi-day hike that generally takes about a week. The trail is challenging because it is high up and requires careful planning before starting.

It is advisable to plan an itinerary to do the Foc Cars. The trail is generally divided into segments and the most common resting places are Colomina refuge, Amitges refuge, Ventosa, Restanca, Colomers, Saboredo, Ernest Mallafre and Josep M. Blanc.
Not all locations offer the same services. Note that some may not have hot water and some may not have electricity.
Along the way there are no special directions, instead following red and white markings, wooden posts, and rock piles left by other hikers.
It is recommended to download the map from AllTrails. Hikers will be rewarded for undertaking this difficult hike with spectacular views of the Pyrenees. The different landscapes will surprise anyone and the variety of colors of the meadows and forests will leave everyone who does this route breathless.
