#10 - Banhs de Tredòs - Estanys del Circ de Colomers
Naut Aran, Lleida, SpainLength: 11.9 mi • Est. 6 h 48 m
A beautiful circular route that allows you to cross some of the lakes of the Colomers circus in an anti-clockwise direction (in this way, the most difficult steps, especially between the Helado and Pruning ponds, are made downhill and not going up). You leave by car from Salardú (Naut Aran) towards the Baños de Tredòs, a thermal establishment. Once there, the cars are left in the parking lot in front of the building and a path goes up to the right. In about an hour you will reach the Major de Colomers lake lock. The tour begins on the path to the right of Lake Mayor de Colomers. You pass in front of the Colomers refuge and, successively, along the edge of the Muerte and Garguilhs de Sus ponds, the small lagoons of the Port and the Helado tin, the highest on the route. A few meters further up you cross the podo neck - between the Cerro de los Osos and the Cerro de Pòdo - the ridge that reaches the same great hill of Colomers (2,934 m), the highest peak of the circus. From the neck, everything is downhill: it passes near the pruning pond, the Obago tin, the Redon lake and the Long tin (curiously there are two continuous ponds with the same name on the southeast slope of the great hill of Colomers: the ponds Redó and Llong, in the Colomers de Espot area). After a small climb that leads back to the Major de Colomers lake lock, take the track that returns to the Baños de Tredòs. At the height of Pònt la Montanheta there is the option of taking the same path that you had taken on the way out.
