Length: 46.6 mi • Est. Multi-day
The Carros de Foc, or chariots of fire, are considered by some nature lovers as the most beautiful hike in the Pyrenees mountains and perhaps in all of Europe. It is a classic route and an ambition of many mountain lovers. This trail is part of a multi-day hike that generally takes about a week to complete. The trail is challenging because it is at a high altitude and requires careful planning before starting. A prior reservation is required to do this route: https://www.carrosdefoc.com/reservas/ It is advisable to plan an itinerary to do the Foc Cars. The trail is generally divided into segments and the most common resting places are shelters; Ventosa, Restanca, Colomers, Saboredo, Amitges, Ernest Mallafre, Josep M. Blanc and Colomina. Not all locations offer the same services. Please note that some may not have hot water and some may not have electricity. Along the way there are no special directions, instead following red and white markings, wooden posts, and rock piles left by other hikers. It is recommended to download the map from AllTrails. Hikers will be rewarded for undertaking this difficult hike with spectacular views of the Pyrenees. The different landscapes will surprise anyone and the variety of colors of the meadows and forests will leave everyone who does this route breathless.Show more

The route to the Montserrat Monastery begins in Collbató, a municipality in the province of Barcelona and continues along a forest path to where you will find a gap. The trail is well indicated at all times and has a lot of influx throughout the year. It is very common to be able to meet the typical mountain goat in the area, so be very attentive !. The entire route has spectacular views, although the panoramic view from the Mirador de la Cruz de Sant Miquel is especially recommended.Show more

This medium difficult 8 miles route near Soller in the Tramuntana Mountains, with an elevation gain and loss of 1700 feet, brings us to the top of Puig de L'Ofre Mountain passing the Cuber reservoir. The views from the summit are amazing. You can see the two lakes Cuber and Gorg Blau, and also a big part of the island, like Palma and Soller. The technical difficulty is medium, the excursion consists mostly in easy ways but the last part, climbing to the summit is a little more complicated and the use of hands will be necessary.Show more

The Otal Valley is a beautiful, although unknown, little treasure of the Pyrenees surrounded by mountains (Peña de Otal, Pico de Tendereña and Peña de Ordiso). The route is in good condition, well signposted and crosses a series of very beautiful meadows located on the river bank. You can see marmots, cows, wildflowers, meadows, along the small forests and the small stream of Otal. The route is simple, suitable for all levels. Its length must be taken into account, especially if it is done with children.Show more

Length: 20.9 mi • Est. Multi-day
The impressive Faja de las Flores are vertical rocky walls formed by erosion over hundreds of thousands of years. This hike is one of the wonders within the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park and within this same park there are many more stone cliffs of this type, although Las Flores is undoubtedly the most spectacular. Note: avoid doing this route in winter when it has snowed.Show more

moderateYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarYellow StarGray Star(13)
Length: 8.0 mi • Est. 4 h 32 m
This trail will take you by the Cubér reservoir and the Tossals Verds refuge. There are springs, holm oak woods, and ancient snow pits. The trail itself is long, windy, and rocky with mountains on either side of you. The view from the top of the trail shows you the Puig Major and the Comafreda valley. In times past, the area was used by ice makers to store their supplies. If you’re still feeling up for adventure after the hike, head to the historic town of Lluc and check out the Lluc Monastery. The beautiful village that you were able to see from the top of the hike will come to life as you explore the monastery. Show more
