Length: 2.1 mi • Est. 51 m
The Caldera de Bandama is a large concavity about 200 meters deep, more than 3 kilometers in perimeter and a diameter of more than 1,000 meters located on the island of Gran Canaria. Its name comes from one of the Flemish settlers who came to this area in the 16th century, Daniel Van Dam, who began to cultivate vineyards in its interior. There's not a lot to be said about the route as there is no alternative to staying on the obvious path! For an easy walk it looks a bit intimidating where you leave the road, but the path is well maintained and generally undulating, and is easier than it initially appears. Although the ridge is narrow, there is nowhere where a fall would incur anything other than superficial grazes, and should be manageable by all but those who suffer the severest vertigo. This walk pairs nicely with a visit to the Botanical Gardens about 10 mins drive away to complete a good day out.Show more

Length: 9.5 mi • Est. 4 h 50 m
The route from the Gambuesa Dam and with the point of greatest interest the Mirador de las Tederas is one of the most beautiful on the island of Gran Canaria, more specifically within the Natural Park of Los Pilancones. It is perfect to immerse yourself in Canarian nature, enjoy its vegetation and wonderful panoramic views of the Caldera de Tirajana. The path is not particularly difficult, although it is usually quite hot in summer. It is advisable to bring water and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.Show more

Start from the on street parking that leads up to the GAMA mini supermarket on the right. There is ample on street parking on both sides of the road. You have almost certainly driven a long way to get here, so stop for a coffee at one of the cafes in the plaza on the right, soak up the sun and plan your hike. From the plaza, head uphill in a northerly direction, past the police station, on a steep brick paved road. Pass the public toilets and take a left hand bend until you come to a junction with a wooden signpost for S90 to Cruz de Tejeda. Take the left fork here and continue north on a concrete road until you come to a large rusty steel monument at the Mirador de los Poetas. Time for a breather and admire the view.Show more

Nice relaxed route in the natural environment of the Pilancones, where you pass through pine forests, very rocky trails and have wonderful views of the Riscos de Tirajana and Paso de la Plata. Note: it is necessary to bring water, sunscreen and trekking shoes.Show more

Esta bonita ruta pasa en algún tramo por carretera, pero es una zona tranquila y merece la pena para poder visitar las presas de Las Ninas y de La Data.Show more

It is very special to walk through the open cave. There is also a walk a little lower around it to the reservoir.Show more
