The Basque Way (inland), or the Camino de Santiago Vasco del Interior, is a route which connects the Cantabrian Sea with the Castilian plains through which the French Way passes. This route will take you to the interior of the Basque Country, discovering its contrasts and its enormous geographical diversity, with coastal landscapes on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea, its mountains, deep valleys, humid forests, endless plains and rural landscapes.
This journey takes you through the historical region of Castilla, the Miranda Mountains, and after crossing the Obarenes Mountains through the Pancorbo Gorge, you will cross the plains of La Bureba before ascending the Alto de la Brújula to finish in Burgos.
It can be done by foot or bike (mountain bike with saddlebags) at a variety of paces and starting points.
