Length: 20.6 mi • Est. 10 h 17 m
This route is part of a multi-week walk along the Camino Primitivo, also known as the Camino Original. The Camino Primitivo was the first route to Santiago de Compostela, a pilgrimage journey that begins in Oviedo, continues west towards Lugo and continues south until reaching Santiago de Compostela, joining the more popular French Way in Melide. It is considered one of the most difficult routes of all the routes on the Camino, due to the many steep ascents and descents. It can be done in a variety of paces and from different starting points. Every spring and summer, many people follow their routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth. It is also popular with hiking and biking enthusiasts and organized tour groups.
