Length: 5.8 mi • Est. 3 h 40 m
This trail begins near the Montserrat Monastery. The path takes you through forest, which eventually becomes stone peaks. The Sant Jeroni is the highest point in the Montserrat massif. The top of Sant Jeroni offers great views of villages and a steep drop down. The path is well marked, but could still warrant a set of hiking poles. The trail is concrete and well packed dirt, many switchbacks so moderate climbing required and the terrain is pretty rough in patches, so advisable to wear comfort and appropriate footwear, and also warm clothing as it get cold the higher you go. Bring water and enjoy the breathtaking views! If you’d prefer to shorten this trail you can look into taking the Sant Joan Funicular. Show more

The route to the Montserrat Monastery begins in Collbató, a municipality in the province of Barcelona and continues along a forest path to where you will find a gap. The trail is well indicated at all times and has a lot of influx throughout the year. It is very common to be able to meet the typical mountain goat in the area, so be very attentive !. The entire route has spectacular views, although the panoramic view from the Mirador de la Cruz de Sant Miquel is especially recommended.Show more

Montserrat has to be one of the most visited locations in Catalonia offering many hiking routes for all levels. This particular route to Santa Maria Montserrat (Abbey of Montserrat) starts at the village of Collbato. From here the route straight away takes a climb upwards, once half way up, the path then runs along the edge of the mountain. After about the first hour into the route, the path then makes a sudden climb up to the final top. Once reaching the top and keeping to the right the path then takes you round to Santa Maria Montserrat. This route without taking any rest breaks takes about an hour and half from Collbato to Santa Maria Montserrat. Once at the Abby this particular route then goes back down to Collbate the same way as you come up. Overall: a great three and half hour hike up to one of the most famous spots in Catalonia.Show more

Length: 5.2 mi • Est. 3 h 5 m
This beautiful route within the Montserrat Mountain Natural Park begins in the parking lot next to the Vinya Nova restaurant-vineyard, where you have to go through its vineyards by climbing some stairs along the Bruc path for about 200 meters without problem even if it is a private road towards Miranda de San Jerónimo. The path continues along the French road, following the PR under the Camel de Sant Jeroni, where the PR that goes to the Canal de Migdia and Montgròs is left to continue climbing to Coll de les Pinasses. Once at the Coll de les Pinasses, you can continue straight and go down a few meters to find the new San Jerónimo path, or take the left to join a little more without losing the level (if you take this shortcut you do not go through of the Hermitage of San Jerónimo, but it goes back). Already on the main road, you leave the Mossèn Cinto viewpoint on the left and a small esplanade on the right where there are many milestones and you only have a few steps to the left to reach the top of Miranda de San Jerónimo. Continue along the main road (Camí Nou de Sant Jeroni) at this time, passing by the hermitage of San Jerónimo, by the break of the French road, the break of the Pla dels Ocells and the break of the Camí del Pont, where you leave the main road (there is no indicator, just a landmark on the ground) The road to the bridge marked with white markings, goes down directly to the La Vinya Nova parking lot, from where the route started.Show more
