Tough at points but totally worth it. Amazing views at the top! Lots of cool spots to stop and explore along the way including old chapels, lookouts and ruins.

Strenuous at ti.es, but more in the moderate side than hard. We found it worth it to have some clothing layers as options as the temperature fluctuations warranted adjustments. it was as beautiful as everyone said with breathtaking views! None more so than when he proposed and I accepted. i could not imagine a more beautiful day.

Great trail! I would recommend going up on GR96 since it's more of a scramble and then going down on GR5 since it's nicer and longer in the sun. Between those two I did the sant joani trail which I would really recommend. The views get even more beautiful. All in all amazing views and really beautiful mountains!

Montserrat mountain in general is amazing. Agree that the hike is moderate for people in pretty good shape. I’m pregnant and usually sucking wind a bit lately when hiking but didn’t have too much trouble . The views are amazing from the top and throughout the hike. We took the funicular and then did the hike which was approx 5 miles round trip . Took us a couple hours to hike it. Definitely a full day including public transportation from Barcelona (metro and trains) the cable car and the funicular. Get the TOT Montserrat pass if you plan to spend a full day. You end up saving money especially if you don’t want to pack food. Highlight of our Babymoon

Beautiful trail with amazing (360) views from the top- the trail’s also partially shaded with some areas of no shade so bring a hat or shades if you’re sensitive to sunlight. There’s some serious wind at the top as well so bringing a light jacket is not a bad idea. We also saw some mountain goats! I’d rate this trail as moderate even though the stairs can be pretty step. Its approximately 1 hr 45 min to the top one way but plan for some extra time- you’ll want to take some cool photos :).

It's worth it, we did the hike from the town (Monistrol of Montserrat) to the Monastery and from there, did this hike to Sant Jeroni, the views are amazing. Excellent for a 1 day hiking trip.

Interesting rock formations and landscapes. Beautiful views. We went on December 27 and enjoyed great weather. After rising above the low hanging fog near the monastery I was able to remove my layers and walk in a t-shirt. I’m not sure why AllTrails describes it as better from April to October. Personally, I would grade this trail as moderate. The loop itself takes between 1:45 to 2:15 to complete but you will probably end up taking more time taking in the sights. I would give yourself about 3 hours to do it if you start at the monastery. It’s easy to visit from Barcelona and makes for a nice day trip. I definitely recommend it.

Beautiful view from the top. Like AMAZING. Steps are kind of annoying on the way down. Worth it though.
