It can be done at a variety of paces and starting points. Legend has it that the remains of the Saint Apostle Santiago are buried there. This route is part of a multi week long hike or ride, along the Geneva Camino, (Geneva Way) also known as via Gebennensis or Jacobweg in German. It is one of the many options to get to Camino de Santiago across Europe, from Geneva to Le Puy, then from there, it will join the traditional Camino Francés route. This route travels through many historical towns and picturesque French villages, it offers the option to enjoy many cultural attractions, vineyards and admire the breathtaking mountainous views and the Alps in the horizon. It can be done by foot or bike (mountain bike with saddlebags) at a variety of paces and starting points. It goes along all types of terrain, mostly off-road, rugged and rocky in some areas. The views are breathtaking.
