Beautiful landscape. What I liked most was walking parallel to the river. I recommend proper shoes, a hat, lots of water and snacks. I think it is important to choose a month in which the heat is not suffocating, for example in May. Watch out for loose stones. Very busy path there are stretches where we have to stop to give way to those who come in the opposite direction.

Incredible hike. Be careful with footing, extremely rugged with small rocks that move under your feet. Can get really hit, no shade. Hike early morning or late evening avoiding noon day sun if possible. If your staying at hostel on other end, plan for plenty of time. They stop serving dinner fairly early. I’ll never forget the views...to die for. Rewarding hike. Goats greet you and old ruins to explore.

Impressive trail. It has amazing views while you walk above the river. Did that with my girlfriend and our dog.

22 May ‘19 - 3 Jun ‘19, most amazing experience to date. not sure if this trail accounts for the hospital route or the pola route, but I took the hospital which may add more elevation to what is posted. Weather was mild, at times chilly and never hot, and the Austurian portion of the journey makes the journey worth it. The trails are mostly dirt/gravel, but in Galicia get quite rocky and not very comfortable. I had no issue with water, food, or shelter along this hike, as the people are very patient and welcoming and the hostaleros are very helpful. If you want a moderatley challenging experience with gorgeous views or are just interested in the Camino, the primitivo is the best and I can’t wait to come back

This is a beautiful hike if you can avoid the crowds. I would call this a steep yet moderate hike—it is a well maintained trail with amenities along the way. I recommend going up to the Mirador above Bulnes.

Linda ruta, no muy difícil de realizar, aunque se hace un poco cansada en las últimas pendientes

This is of the Cares gorge from Poncebos and down the sketchy side trail to the river after 45 mins of good climbing. It’s worth seeing the peaks and the gorge trail. After, we hiked to Bulnes which has great food and is arguable just as good a trail (with great elevation), although not as long. We explored both gorges, and damn are they beautiful.

We started 4 miles away in Sotres, so only made it halfway down the trail. As soon as we started fog blew in and we could only see about 30 ft in any direction. Without fog, the view would have been incredible and we’d definitely recommend the trail.

Wow! We did it in the opposite direction. Flat and easy walking. Lots of people, but if you are in the area, this is a must. Go off trail and get closer to the river on the Poncebos side. You can see this trail on AllTrails. It looks sketchy, but is very doable.

Pleasant hike, difficulty level rather moderate than hard. Nice views (including “moon landscapes”), sadly somewhat hampered by clouds at higher altitudes. Ideal for one day hike. Highly recommended

Breathtaking views as the trail cuts through the hills, fairly busy route we went early September on a weekday so there were fewer people. We saw a 4 Ibex up close.

Valdemurio/Proaza, aller/retour. 14 km. 3h30 hors pauses déjeuné et rivière.

Impressive views from all areas on the trail. Pretty rocky trail with lots of stepping up and down, I would suggest hiking poles. Not too crowded and easy to get around other hikers. Highly recommend the trail for hiking and backpacking.

Incredible trail with views in every direction. Difficult only for length, but mostly easy and flat except for the first forty minutes from Poncebos. We are relatively fit and whole trail took us 6 hours, including plenty of time to take pictures and a stop for lunch in Caín. There were a number of 60+ yo doing the trail as well without problem. The views are so spectacular the whole time that you don’t notice the time going by. It definitely did not feel like 24 km. For best light for pictures start by 10 am on the Poncebos side and hike back in the afternoon from Caín. To park in Poncebos, drive up to trailhead, then turn around and take first available parking. Very popular route, so best to do on a weekday in off-season. Avoid July and August.

A reasonable amount of uphill at the start from the La Nora end; there’s a cafe about 3km, after that it’s nice sea views until reaching the outskirts of Gijón. Walked to the remains of the Roman Wall in Gijón, both the built and natural environment are very pleasing. I looked around the town before heading back. A full eight hours; look forward to doing it again.

Beautiful trail with different kind of views and levels of paths. From Poncebos, the first 45 minutes are a good climb and after the highest point of Caolos the route goes down slightly. The route is located very high above the river and offers you a very good view of the valley and the mountains, which are astonishing when the sun is shining. It's recommended to stay the night in Cain and walk back the next morning! Walked from the other side the route is a different experience, so it's no problem to go back and forth. On the road you get company from a lot of goats, we counted 133!

A beautiful coastal walk from Playa la Nora to Gijon. The path is well maintained and mostly paved. There are limited facilities except where the trail passes close to communities and upon arrival closer to Gijon,

A well maintained and well marked trail along the Rio del Valle to the beautiful Lago del Valle. There are a few steep sections. The lake at the end is worth the effort. There are no facilities or potable water along the route.

This is a great trail. I visited my friend from San Sebastian and his friends and family had all done this trail. It is a local favorite. They recommended that we stay in Potes and then drive to Cain to begin the trail. We hiked from Cain to Poncebos. In Poncebos we got a tasty lunch and drank some beers, then we chilled by the river before hiking back. We came across a lot of mountain goats. The gorge is incredible with dramatic views of the limestone rock shooting up into the sky. I highly recommend this trail it was incredible and I'd love to go back and do the trails in the surrounding area. My friend said this trail can get super crowded during the high season, but it wasn't too crowded in April. We saw about a dozen people over the 14 miles.
