Good for day hike. I’ve hiked two trails and headed back to Seul. It’s windy and quite steep.

Great Hike! Begins easy and gets a little tougher towards the top. We did this trail with 5,8,and 13 year old- and although difficult, they managed it well. Lots of hand holding but they loved it! When it starts getting steep, you know you are approaching the end!

It's one of the mountain has great scenery in South Korea. I'm pretty sure I would go there every year.

Great hike, went on a weekday, very few people. 3500 won to enter the temple, 5,000 won to park the car.

Nice trail— starts out very easy, like a brisk walk with lovely views of a temple and then a stream. After awhile, it turns into a pretty steep and steady climb followed by stairs and stairs. Unfortunately when I went, the weather was very foggy so there wasn’t much of a view at the top! But it was still beautiful along the way! I left at around 5pm and summited by 6:30. I was probably the last one on the trail so I had to come down pretty quickly but all in all, it was very nice. Would recommend!

Very clean, well kept and maintained beautiful and majestic landscape. Not crowded once you pass HeundelBawi then pretty much solid 1km rock and metal stairs to the top. Frequent stops to grasp and take photos of unique and impressive view kept me from exerting. Despite of the dark dormant winter vegetation and no snow it didn't disappointed me by no means. There was no snow hense no crampons needed. On my way down I was drawn by the chanting and wooden percussion from the temple called Shinheungsa at the end of trail. It was extremely soothing and gorgeous.

Beautiful with the autumn leaves, great views from the top. Definite workout with the stairs but very doable!

Lightly trafficked point to point meditation walk along the river between the Woljeongsa and Sangwansa Temples. Some boardwalk, some rocky sections, some smooth dirt path. Beautiful views along the river and of autumn foliage.

Hiked the trail a day after a rain and about 10 days after the peak colors of fall. Colors still spectacular and the views along the trail and the peak were amazing. Not hard, would rate as moderate difficulty. Most challenging is a 1000 foot elevation gain over the last 0.5 mile which is 90% stairs. A workout but not difficult. Heavy traffic later in the day.

Our first trail in Korea and it did not disappoint. This is a very strenuous trail and would have been better on a cooler less humid day, but we got hot, humid and no breeze...bring at least two bottles of water!! View is unique and impressive from top which is what we were looking for!

마지막 부분에 가파른 계단이 많아요. 계단은 아주 재미있진 않아서 별 하나 뺐어요. 가을 단풍철이나 여름 초록이 가득할 때 가면 경치는 좋을 거에요. It's about a half day route. There are a lot of steep stairs at the end of the trail, which are hard but not really difficult. I usually don't enjoy walking up the stairs when hiking. There's a cafe which has great coffee near the beginning of the trail. It would give you more energy to hike up the mountain :)

It continues to be one of my favorite hikes in Korea. It is a moderate hike with the greatest level of effort coming at the end as the trail turns to steps when you hit the summit. But the views make any amount of effort worth it. You cannot pass up this hike if you are in Seoraksan.

Really wonderful hike. I am relatively in shape and it wasn’t that difficult it there were parts that were challenging. If you take it slow you can totally do it and it is very much worth it!

Yea it's good, I wouldn't rate it as hard more like easy/moderate. if you can hike 10 - 15 miles in a mountain environment this is a piece of cake. great views on the way up, toilets etc. can be very hot make sure you have enough water.

Forest, rock, and river views with gentle elevation changes. Wear comfortable, close-toed shoes suitable for walking on uneven and potentially slippery surfaces. Hold the handrail by the section of metal walkway on the way down to prevent taking a dive. Wildlife included several chipmunks, a frog, two crows, a magpie, and an unidentified, fast-moving rodent. Only encountered two other hikers on a Wednesday morning in May. No vendors, but there are a couple of toilets before you reach the major elbow of the trail towards Biryeong Falls. Very few informational panels are translated into English, but the directional signposts are.

Fun but challenging hike. Get ready to go up a lot of stairs! We went during August and it was quite humid. Fun views once you get to the top.

I hiked this August of 2014 and loved it!! Pretty strenuous once you start up the 888 stairs to the top. Random little shops and restaurants on the way up which was fun. Very nice to get some ice cream on the way back down haha. The view at the top is amazing. I went earlier in the morning so it was still quite foggy but cleared up. Highly recommend this hike, or at least just vising the park.

Wife, kids and I did this hike recently in the spring. We started that hike at about 10AM from the main visitor center area after buying our tickets to the cable car which we would ride later. We only had four hours and the sign said that this was a four hour hike so it seemed like a nice fit. The first half of hike is fairly easy with a gentle slope upwards. There is resting area with food and a popular rock that hikers like to pose with about half way through the hike. Following this rest area the hike gets very strenuous with a constant uphill trail. Parts of the hike are so steep that stairs have been built, especially near the end where you are essentially climbing stairs up the final rock cliff face of Ulsanbawi (bawi stands for rock in Korean). The view from the top is amazing and I would highly recommend this hike. The trip up took about 2 1/2 hours but we got down in just over an hour to catch our cable car. This was a tough hike but the highlight of our day and something we will remember forever.

I hiked this trail in October of 2013. The fall colors are incredible. The trail is well maintained and the falls are amazing.
