Went with my wife, 4 and 6 year old. Per the previous post, we also took the wrong trail up. If you start on the trailhead behind the great Buddha take a left and walk about 100 meters to the trail marker. Turn right and head up the stairs. If you are looking for something a bit more off the beaten path go right. The trail is steep and gets more so the higher you get. It was a nice little adventure which my boys loved. My wife however does do well with steep drops off narrow trails so she was a bit unnerved. All in all a nice trail, well maintained and not to crowded.

The hike was a bit more difficult than I anticipated. At one point you use a rope to climb up the boulders. The view at the top is pretty especially with the fall leaves. *I don't recommend bringing young children or baby carrying.

The trail was not bad. It was rocky and steep.

Really great trail and dog friendly. Well kept and the temples and big Buddha were spectacular to view. I took the wrong trail up so my hike up was a little bit harder but once I got to the actual trail it was moderate.

Great out and back. temple and buddha statue are beautiful.

Pretty much all up hill till you get to the top but you get a mixture of walking through the forest and on boulders. Lots of bugs, you'll only get them as your walking in the foresty area. They don't bite but can be annoying. All in all short but vertical hike with a great view at the top.

Not a bad trail, needs a little TLC. The signs going from one trail to the next can be confusing. At times you can hit the road and not know where to go and have to walk around searching for a trail.

nice trail for beginners/families, beautiful coastal view, some steep and slippery surfaces, hiking shoes are a must.

This hike was amazing! When we arrived at the very first fork in the trail, right after the signs, we decided to go left. This brought us up and up and up to some amazing views. This was a bit hard for me since I’ve gotten out of shape recently but would have been a breeze if I had been staying moderately active at the time. We brought our two dogs- one large and one small- and they had an easy time keeping up, however, the small one had trouble walking on the rocks at the beach. All in all a great hike.

We completed this adventure with the whole family (included our two dogs). The hike is not long and is very easy to complete with only a 400 foot elevation gain to reach the small lookout peak. There are alternate routes listed on the map at the trailhead and it is possible to get to the beaches on the other side of the hill without going to the peak for an even easier stroll. Elephant rock is pretty cool to see and my kids enjoyed building rock towers with the large rounded rocks on the beach. The beach here is not sandy so don't expect to be able to lay out and sunbathe. Great experience and the adventure includes just finding the way here. We used GPS coordinates to reach the parking lot and enjoyed the ride. There is not very much information on this hike in English which just added to the adventure of it all. Great memories.
