This place is massive, could fit Jurassic Park inside here. Not well marked however, spent a lot of needless time looking for where to go. AllTrails gps overly also does not correspond and is inaccurate here. As a result I couldn’t do the full loop as described above but did twede waterfall which was cool. Probably 3 miles round trip after you drive into the second parking area, 3/4 in the sun going up hill, then the last 1/4 of the path you’re in the shade going through a gorge/stream till you come to the dead end cave where the water fall is. Permit to hike here is 50 ZAR for the day, it’s a world heritage site.

Loved it, sort of rivals half dome.

Absolutely beautiful. We had an especially windy day and it was difficult to keep from being blown off the trail.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trail last month. It was our last stop in South Africa and well worth the effort getting there. It is not a difficult trail -- quite shorter than the 8 miles stated -- and you do need a good head for exposure while on the ladders. I recommend bringing scree gloves that provide some degree of grip on the metal rungs. There's a gully option you can choose in lieu of the ladders. To me it looked much more difficult. Our guide said it can quickly turn dangerous during a rain.

We went during the dry season and we expected Tugela Falls to be be dry. However, anyone wishing to see the falls should remember it is seasonal!

short hike, great for the beginner, safe, clearly marked.

Beautiful hike! Definitely challenging, steep, switchbacks. Coming back down will keep those legs loose! It’s amazing at the top definitely worth it.

Not for the faint hearted

spectacular views on a clear evening

Excellent beautiful hike. One for the bucket list!

Amazing views all round, slept at the top for a night and it was incredible. Mornings are to die for when the clouds come in.

Had an absolutely amazing time summiting this beauty. Hiked for about three hours up and another two down.

I completed the knives edge trail and loved it because I’m into extreme hikes. I would highly recommend the route to most extreme fella hikers

Wow spectacular scenery!! Worth the trek!! You need a head for heights!!

must do - beautiful manicured bushes and whale sightings

Definitely not an easy hike. I did this in the fog and rain with a guide and it was still quite pretty.

Wonderful trail up from Camp’s Bay along the face of the Apostles, up through a gorge with a waterfall on your right, up and over the top of 12 apostles, then up and down echo valley and finally the ascent to table mountain. Well marked, easy to use with all trails app. We did it with two middle aged hikers and one younger hiker and it took exactly four hours with a few stops. A little wet at points so wear good shoes and use hands on the steeps when wet. Lovely vistas and changing flora all the way up. While many steep parts, these are nicely intermixed with flats to regain your balance. Very sunny so would not recommend in summer heat. Parked at trailhead at top of residential street in Camps bay and seemed very safe. Would not recommend going down the trail unless fit and experienced with declines. We took the cable car after our enjoyable ascent

Fantastic hike although not easy. Not for those with a fear of heights. Go with a guide

Gorgeous

An easy trail, short and sweet.

Very safe and close to the city, with no dirt roads.

Definitely a tough hike while going up, pro tip - don’t go on an all day wine trip the day before! But definitely easier going back down

Super easy to get to and very easy to hike! I would add the Lighthouse Keeper's trail to this to make it more of a true hike, as well. Wear warm clothes, since it's very cold!

I would recommend partaking in the Full Moon hikes which occur when there is a Full Moon over Cape. You'll have a marvellous experience hiking Lion's Head in the evening (when it's cooler), and breathtaking sunsets and views of the landscape are super easy to see. Bring some wine, and make some friends at the top. Coming down is what is hard about this trail, since much of the highest parts of the trail are accessed by ladders, chains, and metal stairs attached to rock. Be careful, and enjoy!

This was my favourite hike in Cape, since it offers a real challenge with many incredible views of the city. I would highly recommend wearing proper footwear, since the higher you ascend, the more rugged the hiking becomes. Bring lots of water and sun protection, since most of this trail is always within view of the sun. If you're a beginner or have rarely hiked, I would highly suggest taking the Cable car down (if it's working), since descending the trail is what makes this hike much more difficult than the pure elevation.

its quiet amazing and the scenery awesome

Beautiful Ascent up table Mountain, one of the best of all the crisscrossing trails to the top.

Really fun ascent, not to strenuous, much more secluded than other hikes in the area. Great views of the entire cape area, the entire hike to the top is out of view of the city, nice to get away.

Beautiful spot, fun hike under the canopy of trees. Also a great spot to start from to ascend Table mountain. Once you get through the switchback up the ridge, turn north and continue up trail in that direction, goes directly to the Table Mt. summit.

Gem of a hike, much less traveled than Lion's Head or even Table Mt. We used to do a challenge we called the peak bagger, we would ascend all three in one day, not to difficult, would have to trail run to get it all in. Love this area, especially when you are in the saddle between Devils peak and table Mt., its beautiful.
