Great hike in the city. Well marked and amazing 360 degree views. Moderate is the right rating as there are some sections with exposure. More difficult routes with scrambling options available. If you want to find Wally's Cave: go past the first ladder (do not go up it), go the old bench and go DOWN to the LEFT, traverse until you see an opportunity to scramble up to the right. If you go too high you'll end up on a flat lookout with a steep drop off.Show more

The trail starts just right to the cable car lower station and it climbs quickly to the contour path. Then the India Venster hike truly starts. Follow the yellow footprints all the way to the top of the mountain. Beautiful views and fun hike, but don't underestimate it. There is parts where climbing is involved and above average fitness is required to make it to the top. The route is extremely difficult down and should only be done by experienced hikers.Show more

The hike starts from the most southern residential area of Camps Bay, heads up one of the gullies between the 12 Apostles. Once on top of Table Mountain, use a myriad of trails to pass some huts used by the South Africa Scouts (there's a public hut as well that looks like it would be a great place for a picnic). You'll pass above the reservoirs and head through Echo Valley towards the upper cable station. The cable car costs 125 rand. There is a cafe and shops at the top, which is a great place for a sandwich and a beer. Come back down the cable car and head back. Lots of streams, birds, and steps.Show more
