Beautiful Ascent up table Mountain, one of the best of all the crisscrossing trails to the top.

Really fun ascent, not to strenuous, much more secluded than other hikes in the area. Great views of the entire cape area, the entire hike to the top is out of view of the city, nice to get away.

Beautiful spot, fun hike under the canopy of trees. Also a great spot to start from to ascend Table mountain. Once you get through the switchback up the ridge, turn north and continue up trail in that direction, goes directly to the Table Mt. summit.

Gem of a hike, much less traveled than Lion's Head or even Table Mt. We used to do a challenge we called the peak bagger, we would ascend all three in one day, not to difficult, would have to trail run to get it all in. Love this area, especially when you are in the saddle between Devils peak and table Mt., its beautiful.

Short but fun ascent, toward the end there are two sections were there are chains bolted into the rock to lift yourself up a few boulders. Up until that point it is a wide easy well traveled trail. Great views of the city, twelve apostles, Devil's peak, and of course table Mt.

Amazing amazing hike - as good as it gets!

The waterfall is rain based.

The road goes all the way to the car park at the trailhead.

Caution: It is a VERY rugged road!

The elevation of the mountain creates its own weather system - be prepared for sudden rains and "white-outs" even when the weather prediction is for a clear sky.

The lodge nearby (witsieshoek) offers lifts to the car park for R100. well worth it...just call them to confirm the still offer the service.

Did the India Venster trail with rock climbing,...would highly recommend! Not too difficult and very few other climbers. Great hike.

Incredible trail along the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment. One of the best hikes around. The official trail consists of eight unmarked checkpoints but there is so much beautiful scenery that you won't go wrong by going off course. The views from the edge to the Underberg 4,000 feet below are unforgettable.

Typically hiked SOBO from the Sentinel Car Park to Bushman's Nek. Fees are required for Royal Natal National Park and Giant's Castle. All hikers should sign the Mountain Rescue Register at their point of entry. Amphitheatre Backpackers is a great stay either before or after your hike.

amazing hike up the back of Table Mountain, be careful, we saw a Cape cobra there

Steep and rocky but views are amazing! Wear good hiking shoes as rocks can be slippery if wet.

Beautiful route.
The climbing makes it tough, but it’s worth it for the views/nature.

Absolutely stunning. We went up and down the gully route, which is quite a scramble, but is safe and well marked.

The trail is very well maintained, including being paved for the first two miles.

This is a great day hike to do from Thendele. Well marked and not steep.

The first few miles is typical Berg hiking up the valley, through open country and a few forests. The hike should really be called the Gorge hike (as its marked in the reserve’s signs), and hiking up the gorge at the end is a must. You pass through the steep-sided gorge, with spectacular views up to Amphitheatre, and can swim in the pools carved in the rock.

Watch out of flash floods and speak to the rangers before hiking up the gorge though.

Great hike with amazing views. Some areas need to use staples and vertical ladders and can be expose so be prepared. It is well marked and also very crowded, so much that had to wait in line to go down the staples, but the views at the top is worth it.

This hike was hard but so much worth it. Had to do scrabbling lots of times and some areas were expose but the views made it all worth it. Had 2 ladders to climb up to get all the way to the cable cars but were ok for me since not as expose. Also had the trail for myself most of the way since only saw 5 hikers and 3 rangers the 5 hrs I was in the trial. Need to know your way around because most part not identify and can get confusing in the section where it is all rock climbing, so go with a guide ( I did) if not familiarize with it. The guide can also take your pics!!

Great sunrise hike!! I’d say it was a little more than moderate, but the views are so worth it!

awesome 360° views from the top

Took me and two friends just about two hours to reach the top! It was a lovely hike. A few wet areas with flowing water we had to cross but I think that is a result of the rain the last couple days rather than the norm.

Great hike although pretty hard.

Climbed again Monday 4/30/2018 at 10:00 AM with wife, daughters and 4 friends from Cape Town. Took a little over 2 hours! Perfect day! Unbelievable views! Hard but worth every bit of effort.

Beautiful, isolated and challenging. All the important factors for a good hike

Not technically very difficult, just a long and steep climb. It took about 3 hours to complete with frequent breaks. We took the cable car back down. Definitely recommend this hike, it has a beautiful view.

Beautiful view, paved route throughout.

Hectic and really hard but well worth it
