Good tough trail with plenty of viewpoints to the north and south, river runs and variation in gradient!

Very fun trail with gorgeous views. Unlike a lot of the harder trails around here, this had a more gradual incline (not 1000m straight up like Table Mountain) and some beautiful views of the ocean. Loved hiking around the top between the peaks and rolling through the different fauna. Was quite warm when we started out but got a great breeze and some cloud coverage when we were about 30 minutes in until we got back down. Highly recommend!

First time and loved it, did a few of the single tracks, will be returning soon

One of the most beautiful hikes you can do! Some tough climbing a very loose descent (kurktrekker / corkscrew).

Fantastic hike! Hard, but absolutely worth it.

Stunning views the whole way! We did Galpin hut from the Waterfall start point - only about a 3-4 hour round trip I would say - would recommend on a clear day!

Nice easy trail. I would call this an easy trail with a slight incline - the waterfall at the end when we went was only tiny though - a small shower sprinkle I would say.

We started out a little late; around 11:45 at the entrance. The not so talkative cashier told us that the park would close at 18:00. Actually they close and lock the gate around 17:30. Apparently they do (sometimes?) leave someone on watch for a little while. There is a very bumpy rocky one way circle road with a lot of potholes going from the gate to the second parking spot and looping back to the gate. If you don’t want to wreck your small rental car, it takes almost 30min to drive one stretch. We did the climb upto Bergrivier Nek in 2hr15min. By that time there was not enough time to complete the whole 6,5hr trail. So we went back the same way unfortunately. The path is covered in loose rock for a large part. It is very safe and well maintained. The views are worth it. We arrived back at the gate around 17:30 and were asked if there were more cars still at the parking. They apparently wanted to close up. Since the drive is a one way circle and there is also an intermediate (first) parking spot, I had no way of knowing if someone was still there. The funny thing is, they make you sign in, but fail to let you sign out! It all sounds a bit dramatic, which it is not if you are warned and make sure to start on time.

Beautiful walk! Really enjoyed the Ranch!

Very tough hike but the views are amazing throughout the trail. Make sure you go on a sunny day otherwise your views will be spoilt if there is a slight bit of mist.

Beautiful hike and not too hard, quit moderate actually. I could imagine this waterfall to be more impressive during rain season. We climed up August first but did enjoy the hike a lot. Some steeph parts.

Taking this route, is the longer way around, but truly worth it. You get to experience the views of the Hemel & Aarde valley and an opportunity to take a quick detour up and down Aasvoëlkop, from where the views are absolutely staggering. Galpin Hut is just lovely. Cosy place to sleep and wake up to a breathtaking panorama. Unfortunately you can’t bank on there being water. Loved this hike and will definitely do it again.

Beautiful gardens ending up in a nice stroll to the waterfall

Water holes - picnic spots - fun easy walk for the family and friends - a must do

This place is massive, could fit Jurassic Park inside here. Not well marked however, spent a lot of needless time looking for where to go. AllTrails gps overly also does not correspond and is inaccurate here. As a result I couldn’t do the full loop as described above but did twede waterfall which was cool. Probably 3 miles round trip after you drive into the second parking area, 3/4 in the sun going up hill, then the last 1/4 of the path you’re in the shade going through a gorge/stream till you come to the dead end cave where the water fall is. Permit to hike here is 50 ZAR for the day, it’s a world heritage site.
