Trail is well maintained and the signage is good. Relatively good balance between shade and open sun. Advisable to start the hike early to avoid roasting, but bring a jacket with because the starting point can be chilly as you head down towards the river. Trail partially intertwines with cyclists so be mindful to give way. All in all, a lovely walk on the outskirts of the city.

Easy trail for a great family outdoor experience. R45 per adult.Great picnic spots and clean bathrooms. Little tuck shop on the premises. Horse riding also available at R110 per hour.

Great trail close to Pretoria and Centurion. Beautiful scenery. Well demarcated for easy walking without a map. Stunning picnic spots, clean bathrooms. Great for a day outdoors. R45 per adult.

This was a great hike through the nature reserve. The beginning and end were rocky and a little steep, but not technical. I was out during midday and still saw lots of wildlife, to include giraffes and zebras. The trail was well maintained and clearly marked.

There are various routes you can do in Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve and can get quite a bit of mileage if you combine these routes. With it being just 40 mins out of JHB and is a great place to train and calibrate for upcoming multi-day hikes. Suggestion is to get there early as it can get quite busy. They open at 6am in summer and 7am in winter. It’s also free entry.

We would recommend to get a map as the trails can lead into each other.

Well maintained trail, clearly marked, and fairly easy. Shaded most of the route which is always welcome, and spotted a few buck around as well as zebra. No entry fee is required, but there is a donation box at the entry to the reserve. Dogs not allowed, on or off leash. Will definitely visit again.

This is a lovely hiking trail - most of which is done in a forest like setting... (think Lord if the Rings Fellowship of the Ring

Enjoyed the hike! Weather was perfect and it was just the right challenge. Would do it again

Great trail, well marked, clean and safe. Clean flush toilets and showers. Lots of game giraffes, buck, etc. Safe parking lot, and they sold hot coffee! Love it!

Very clean would do again. Very balanced ascend and descend.

Very nice easy trail. There are some rocky bits at the start and then towards the finish. The rest is of the surface is quite nice with nice views. I will come again.
