Have hiked this trail twice. Also went on an hours horseback ride. Stunning views, well worth it!

This trail was mostly through forest. Very pleasant, clearly defined path, but lots of going up and down. took us longer than we expected.

Definitely plan your river crossing with the tides at Bloukraans River well. And pack / carry as light as you can. We had to start walking at 1am to get to Bloukraans for low tide, but so worth it. Also great if you pack a mask and snorkel...some great snorkelling in pools and bays along the way. Wet shoes are also a must. Almost ready to do it again...

Fantastic. Quite hard over the rocks and boulders. Remember to take water.

Day visitors park a short 5 minute walk from the starr of trail. Trail details that it's a 3 1/2 return trip, however as moderately fit people we completed it in 2hours including 20 mimites at the actual waterfalll and photo stop along the way. There is some scrambling across foreshore rocks, however, is still more than suitable for young children (7+). Unfortunately there was limited water flow when I visited, but am sure in all it's glory would be quite majestic.

Most beautiful trail along the tsitsikamma coast! Able to see lots of wild animals ( otters ! , dolphins, birds,...). Hiking day 4 was really hard, with several river crossings, but definitely worth it! In summer take your swim clothes as you can go into the ocean in every beach! Accept a bit more weight of your backpack for the first night (the track is really short) and enjoy a nice evening dinner and drinks At the first huts!

HikingFeeGreat!Rocky

Five days of fairly strenuous hiking, but can be done with moderate fitness. The enchanting scenery commences on the first day and continues all the way to the end of the fifth day. Each day is filled with undulating walks through forests, splendid views over the Indian Ocean, waterfalls and rock pools, river crossings, rocky cliff paths and beaches. Animal sightings included otters, whales, dolphins, monkeys, bushbuck, genets and a wide variety of birdlife. Pack as light as possible (your body should, however, adjust to the heavy load by day 2) and plan and print your river crossings in advance, especially the day 4 Bloukrans crossing. Huts are very basic. No electricity and very little mobile reception (once or twice a day if lucky) throughout the five days.
