Climbed up and camped out on the top overnight. Amazing views!
Not the easiest of a moderate walk - a few bits I elected to come down on my bottom - but well worth the view
A nice walk, the climb had plenty of false summits and the boggy conditions made it a strenuous test.
Amazing hike! You can definitely notice a temperature change between the hidden valley below and the summit of Ben A’an. Bring layers and waterproof footwear because it was quite wet. Full stars for this one. Also bring change for parking at the bottom! £3 for the day.
loved this hike . even though it wasn't a tough hill it got the heart pumping. cracking views at the top x
A beautiful hike but treacherous when you have to descend (on the counter clockwise route): it was very muddy and slippery (I fell a few times and my boyfriend lost a shoe!
Great for a swim too!
Gillian T. on Highland Boundary Trail
Personally I would not say it is 'easy'...but I am beginner. The Forestry mark it as 'strenuous' and there was a part that was indeed harder going. I loved the views and waterfalls along the way!
Great views , defo worth the climb
We did the Trail anti-clockwise and the way to the top had a really nice trail. Easy to walk dispite the incline! The way down from the mountain was a bit trickier. The was no markings and quite steep an muddy/slippery. All in all a good trail though!
Very Nice view from the top ! Good but very short hike . I would do it if you don’t have so much time or combine it with another hike the same day
We really enjoyed this hike, even though the weather at the top did not allow us to see anything. There are a couple of boggy areas and some rocky scrambling needed. The path was well marked for most of the way. There was ok section towards the top where the path split and you need to stay right. There are beautiful waterfalls throughout the entire hike and lovely shades of green, especially at the start of the hike! Only wish we could have seen the view but was not upset in the least.
nice one
A great walk. We had a mostly sunny day just a little wind. Some steep sections that are exactly like climbing stairs. The View of both loch Katrine and loch achray are amazing.
great easy walk for moderate walkers. Is quite steep and is mostly rocky steps but view of Loch Katrine at the top is worth it
