Absolutely phenomenal hike! Stunning views, challenging terrain and weather and when I got to the top... you can laugh at how cheesy this is but I actually shed tears. Ive travelled and seen beautiful landscapes but this was dazzling beyond anything I have been privy to. Take plenty of layers; we went on a 28c sweltering summers day and it was exceedingly thick snow towards the summit.

Fun hike. At the start there is a steep incline for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the dam. From there, you hike the right bank and gradually go up to the first peak. The view gets better with every foot of elevation. Distances look close but were deceivingly for, possibly due to snowy conditions. Would recommend to start early in the day, not noon like us :)

Fun hike with good views. From the start it’s a fairly steep climb for about 30-40 minutes. Once you make it to the dam you walk along the bank and slowly gain elevation. The higher you go, the better the views. The best view of the hike is at the other side of the reservoir (north side). Would recommend to start early in the day if you aim to do the full route.

Bit icy along the path yesterday but views and weather were spectacular. Walk itself is full of big steps at the start but then eases to a normal hill walk. Definitely take your camera, definitely go to the wee coffee shop across from the car park.

Very steep but short hike to the top, and beautiful views when you get there. Can get busy so arrive early!

Did this back in September 2018, got up at the crack of dawn and did the walk in about 3 hours, with plenty of breaks and chatting to other hikers, it did get busy until on our way back down, but absolutely breath taking, and definitely worth it even if it’s raining! Couldn’t recommend more.

Ptarmigan ridge is the best route to take both up and down if you like a challenge. The tourist route up is exactly that, full of foot traffic and really quite boring except for the views

great walk with lovely views..very icy in parts but I would imagine it would be quite muddy boggy if the weather was warmer..had to lift my two dogs over the stile and down some drops on the way back down the hill..all in all good walk
