The Lost Valley, or Coire Gabhail, is a hidden valley that served as a cattle hiding place for the MacDonalds of Glen Coe, who escaped the 1692 massacre. The hike can be tough, with steep and often rocky terrain. Some mild scrambling is required. The dramatic landscape is worth the effort.Show more

Mostly level walking. A little climb near end; then a winding drop down to Fort William. While relatively flat, it can be difficult underfoot in places because of water flowing across large segments of the track. You can pick your way over much of it thanks to the rocky terrain but those who are not reasonably sure of foot may struggle in wet weather.Show more

The Ciaran Path is a rugged, technical gem in the Scottish Highlands and the route is featured in the November 2009 issue of MBR magazine. All of thee routes in this area are physically and technically demanding and cross remote mountain terrain where the weather can change suddenly. Certain sections can become very boggy and even impassable after periods of heavy rain. Ensure you have adequate food, water, clothing and navigational equipment. Punctures are frequent, so take plenty of tubes, and we’d advise against riding any of these routes alone.Show more
