It's pretty hard to access from the road as someone has dumped a sofa and bed at the access point. Then there is a sign advising people not to go any further (rather foreboding red spray paint saying "I'd turn back if I were you"). There was no clear way past so we did as we were told.

Great family walk! My Harry Potter obsessed daughter loved the info board about how the walk got it’s name. Lovely woodland and park in general. Some tarmac path and some off road woodland path.

Walking

Really pleasant walk with some lovely river views at points. Walk is super easy apart from at about the half way point, where after descending quite steeply, you then have to ascend just as steeply! If you go clockwise around the trail the you will ascend up a hill, if you go anti-clockwise you’ll have to climb a fair few steps. Trail wasn’t too crowded considering the area seemed busy, and also parking was no problem at all, loads of spaces.

First part of the walk (the green lane) was nice (even though ruined by trash everywhere, both brought by river and left by people). The walk around the lake was not nice at all, we turned around half way through.

Absolutely loved the walk! I would recommend to extend it a bit by going to the Old Avon bridge though.

Quite a small park but it's very accessible to where I live in the West End of Glasgow so was very handy. Lots of lovely trees and it's a nice open space for a wander.
