Superb walk...started at St Abbs Nature Reserve Car Park (£3 all day)...1 hour 50 mins all the way around including a 15 min tea break at the Lighthouse. Easy path to follow, ever-changing views, a bit of everything!! Thank you for this walk!!

A lovely straight forward hike to a stunning beach. plenty of parking near the start with public toilets available. the path was excellent with ice in places due to the time of year but nothing too arduous. stunning views of the surrounding white peaked mountains. once the beach is in view it's a case of losing the trail a bit but it's clear where you're going. spent time on the beach which is about a mile wide which has a view of an impressive sea stack. we then decided to head back the way we came rather than continue on the circular as shown on the map. overall a great addition to the many hikes we've undertaken in Scotland.

A tough but rewarding hike across the coastline towards views to Cape Wrath and surrounding mountains before heading back inland to the start point. Passing Durness golf club you head along a path which follows the coastline and can venture very near to cliff edges so be very careful especially in high wind. We encountered very high winds and vicious rain and hail for the beginning section so we kept inland away from the cliffs. Coming across one of the fabulous white sand beaches gave some welcome relief to the wind offering amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Heading back up along the cliffs the wind returns before eventually getting to the non descript ferry terminal where there is a waiting shelter from the elements if required. It's then a hike along a couple of roads before turning left onto another path that leads back to the start point along a road. Of note near the end is the ruins of an old school that's worth a visit with superb views across a small loch. Despite the high winds and rain at the start we're glad we completed this hike. With amazing views and a beautiful beach along the way it was well worth the effort. I'd suggest no dogs due to the closeness to the cliffs in places unless kept on a lead.

superb hike along two amazing white sand beaches with deep blue sea. although muddy and boggy in places this was a lovely place to explore with amazing views all along the trail. straight forward in terms of visible tracks and there's a tarmac track in some places. the sand dunes near the end after the cairn are a highlight too. thoroughly enjoyed this even with sporadic wind and rain!

do you know, if there are any steps on the trail? i would like to walk it with my son who rolls with a swisstrac and a wheelchair. it can go through sand and up and down on small paths but no stairs / high steps.

I completed this trail on my birthday with my mum and had a great day. The walk was one of the most enjoyable I have ever done and the view from the top was worth the walk.

A little too much urban for me but a nice walk

Great run even in the winter.

A walk I use when other family members want to go into town. It lets me and our dog get out and stretch our legs a little. Nice wide paths, paved and very easy. Can be a bit over crowded near the Theme park area but when you get past that it is less travelled.

Excellent trail, well maintained paths and stunning dune landscape. Area is a reserve for grey seals however it is luck if you find them on the beach, you have keep your eyes open whilst walking along the estuary where they feed, heads bobbing up every few minutes

Great trail but be prepared for lots of step climbs in and out of castle. we started our trail from the harbour car park (free). Car park at trail start is only 3 or 4 cars. If you want to go into castle there is a fee, but it is worthwhile

Nette kurze Wanderung gute Aussicht auf die komplette Bucht von oben.

Easy walk out from Tobermory. Despite some 6 hrs of torrential rain in the morning the walk along a good compacted stone path was wet but not muddy. Returned along the same route considering the earlier comment. Lovely views. Recommended.

Absolutely Stunning. Easy hike for almost anyone!

Nice lure fishing off rocks. Walk good too but go early to get parking and avoid the people

The trail is very narrow at places. The scenery is incredible. The actual loop is mildly awkward as you have to sort of figure out how to get back to the beginning. The directions for this trail take you into the hotel parking lot. There is dedicated parking through at the actual start of the trail at near the water.

Beautiful! Not that easy, but worth it.

Lovely walk along the coast with beautiful views of the surrounding cliffs and castle ruins.
