The Cobbler, also known as Ben Arthur, is a mountain at the head of Loch Lomond. The mountain itself is known for its rock climbing, considered some of the best in the Southern Highlands. The Cobbler has three summits, with the middle summit being the highest and most difficult to reach. It requires careful navigation through a hole, or needle, to reach a tall rock outcrop. Whether you choose to attack this summit or not, you will enjoy stunning views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding highlands throughout this hike.Show more

West Highland Way section 8: Inveronan to Glencoe Mountain. This is an easy unsheltered hike on an ancient military road/path in good condition. Much of the way is uphill, but the incline is very mild. You will travel in the valley/lower slopes of a series of increasingly larger hills/mountains until you arrive at Glencoe Mountain, the site of a ski hill. The usual stopping place and accommodation is a little further along at Kings House hotel. This works out well for staying in Glencoe Village, about a 20 minute drive from the ski hill. Show more
