Nice view of Danube and a nice small city

Beautiful view on the top. Great trail. Many rest places and few informations about the tree species.

A gorgeous waterfall when it has water, i recommended visiting at the end of spring, and the hike is totally worth the time and effort

Great moderate hike with a well-marked trail and good views back down into town as a payoff

Really fun trail. Went on it 3 or 4 times but the best part is actually after the canyon to the top of the mountain, ending with Piatra Mare Cabin. Good place to eat, pet the donkeys and if you guys have 35 lei in your pockets maybe spent the night there. From what i remember they have about 7 double beds but you can make a reservation just to be sure you have a spot. Take care and don’t forget your flaslight:)

We picked up this trail net Busteni and did 12 km of it with our two girls. It was beautiful scenery and great landscapes. We even hiked a bit off trail to get a good photo on a cliff

I’ve done it with a 7 yo child with no problem. Crowded on weekends, though.

Very nice trail, various gorgeous landscapes. Not too difficult, more intermediate. 4 hours.

It's hard to find much info on trails in Romania unless you speak Romanian. we were hoping to hike all the way to the peak but only made it to the incredible scenic and totally worth it cabin. it took us about two hours up from the parking area next to the fountain and we followed the yellow stripe between two white stripes. it was clearly marked basically the entire way. there was good tree cover and there were a couple places to refill water but I'm still glad I brought a liter and a half. at the cabin we had a espressos and placinta (cake) and felt like proper cultured folk. we went down via the blue stripe that changed to the yellow bullseye in a white circle. it was totally different and I highly recommend doing this loop way, shows a completely different side. just keep walking down the trail until it becomes a dirt road and then follow that until it returns to the fountain where you parked your car. boom baby, I did the work for you.

Easy trail for dogs and families. The whole loop can be done in less than 2 hours. Shade most of the trail. Great view at the top!

One of the most amazing, beautiful, scenic montain I ever hiked. It was actually my first big hike 16years ago. I returned 3 times there. Did it from both starting points (Durau and Izvorul Muntelui) therefore this loop was my favorite. I went there again this year with my 13yo son and with my brother. Hiked up by Duruitoarea and climbed down by Fantanele which I found more difficult now because of more conglomerate rocks that now are linning the trail which makes it very difficult for the descent.

It’s a great trail to get up to the Brasov sign and beyond for some gorgeous views. If it’s recently rained, just trail becomes muddy but it’s also a clay like mud so that with the slick rocks makes the trail quite slick, so just be aware. The little out and back at before beginning the loop back to the trailhead is a little confusing for me. There are some great trails back there that could be explored more, but I don’t know why the turnaround is where it is unless it’s just to make the distance a round 3.5 miles. Just don’t expect a viewpoint at that out and back turnaround. On the other hand, if you have time, keep going and explore the nice trails on that side of the mountain.

I spent there a week. It was a time to stop all the activities and practice Deep Walking. The landscape was a must. Silence, contemplation, stormy skies at times, rain, fog and a bicentennial oak. A friend told me aboutI this place. From Busteni Railway Station you can take a taxi to arrive to the monastery or you can phone the monks to pick you up. I did it. There is a Way of the Cross at the beginning of the slope. And many tracks run these mountains. A piece of advice, be aware of the presence of bears. One day, while I was walking near the convent, I saw one. Fortunately, nothing happened and the bear went into the forest.

Long and gentle-slope hiking up the mountain. The trail is covered by trees but not too dense. There are several turns that you can take a quick stop. The final stop, at the top looking down to the city, is incredible!

Băneasa forest is still the widest green space in Bucharest’s administrative territory, 3 to 4 times the size of Herăstrău and Tineretului parks. Băneasa Forest borders Tunari Forest and together they make up a microclimate for the area. Here, the temperature is a few degrees lower than in downtown Bucharest. This is Bucharest’s only forest, offering a breath of fresh air, and it is also a good place to go running or cycling along short routes. The infrastructure could use some improvements, from indicators to ecological benches and even lighting. Even more so, a series of courts for sport and other similar activities would come in handy. https://izi.travel/it/e5e2-baneasa-forest/en
