Very beautiful, and the rock formations on the beach are worth the hike. Parts of the trail are very narrow a may be a little difficult for people who are very young or for senior citizens.

The cave is worth visiting. Kinda questionable stairs but worth the risk. Just hold on to the railings well.

Post Maria the trail is partially cleared, hence why we couldnt finish the loop and had to hike back the same way. Cave is clean and nice.

Uphill on the out til you get to the other main road, then downhill on the way back

No park authorities or parking fee. Signs to cave are easy to follow. Not touristy or busy on a Sunday afternoon. I was the only one in the cave. Don't forget your flashlight/headlamp. Not difficult. I think this could be labeled "easy." Very beautiful just too short.

Okay, mostly flat and not the most interesting trail here. You can hear the ocean the entire way but can't really see it. A few other trails go off it if this is too short for you. Although it's an easy trail, the rocks make it more suitable for "hard" soled below the ankle hiking shoes than softer or trail running type shoes.

running

Easy trail to walk but if you try trail running as I did, the loose and embeded limestone will be quite difficult and dangerous. Plus you won't be able to enjoy the scenery. After about 1.5 miles, I mostly stopped running and fast walked it. At 2 miles is where it becomes interesting with more variety of cactus, a number of craggy inlets, huge carved rocks and crashing waves. Lots of hawks circling, some pelicans and a few hermit crabs. The trail is not well marked but easy to follow. There are occasional blue ribbons tied to branches and after about 2 miles, small blue MTB arrow shaped signs showing the way.

Family hike to amazing cave. Trail is closed due to down trees but passable with a lot of effort.

Beautiful view of turquoise waters! The trail starts at the level of the beach where I snorkeled but didn’t see much, only seagrass. The hike got higher and higher to where the waves crash on the cliffs. It’s a very hot hike and I probably would have passed out from the brutal sun if it wasn’t for the cool gusts of ocean wind the entire time. Not much as far as shade so be prepared with a hat, sunscreen, and lots of water. Pretty cool cacti and birds on the trail.

Guanica State Forest is an awesome place. It's a totally different environment from the rainforest on the east side of the island. Definitely a place to check out and hike. Just bring your own bathroom supplies if you must use the facilities.

Great easy trail
