The trail head is difficult to locate as it starts from someone backyard and the roads are very steep without any signs ...but it is all worthed. The trail is beautiful and the waterfall is amazing. I parked at the corner of the canal bridge and was all by myself throughout the 1 mile hike and spend 1 hour at the waterfall...Amazing Experience!!!!

the trail is a road to the towers at the top. ample parking area. while I was at the top a worker in a jeep arrived to check on the generator. the walk is steep, but easy footing. beautiful views in all directions.

Rainforest mini hike. Mountain biking trail. Good for early mornings. Carry water as it can be humid.

Incline all the way up awesome view at the top of the tower

You need to pay to park which can be three to four dollars depending on which private lot you use. There are two different ways to get there but the easiest to find is there is a short trail on the left aide of the river at the parking lot that upon exiting look directly across the river to the path on the right side you take this until it crosses the river one more time. You hit charco frío first with a rope swing and some small jumps off the rocks. Go up the backside on the right of the rope swing to continue the trail to las tinajas which is amazing natural water slides. There are two sets of water slide areas. One is higher up and has two slides next to each other that drop you into a small pool. The left one is bumpier but both are fine as long as you don’t stay at the bottom. The second set is right below the first and dumps into a large pool for swimming. DO NOT GO DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE! The left side has a a great really long slide that shoots you into the pool. The right is not a safe slide. If you feel super adventurous you can jump off a high rock dive into that pool also. You can see from the recoding we spent a lot of time in the pool areas. These are well trafficked paths with tourist groups and locals who put on some amazing cliff diving shows. You will need to do some rock bouldering and be in relative good shape to complete this hike. Balance is key as a lot of it is near slippery river rocks. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is due to this not being a naturalist trail and I hate paying for any part of hiking but I know some people in our group thought it was the best trail on island. No matter what it is a do not miss experience in Puerto Rico!

Great trail! The rocks can be a bit slick near the bottom, but no real risk of slipping otherwise.

This was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. The way down was rocky and muddy. Be careful not to touch the numerous poisonous plants. The stinging nettles are especially fun since they produce a pain like being stung by a wasp every time you accidentally brush up on one (and the sting last for hours). I did swim in the pools at the end of the trail and that helped relieve some of the misery but I wouldn’t say the end of the trail was worth it. I’d recommend protective clothing but I imagine that would be miserable in a different way (rainforest humidity). We got rained on a couple times so at least that was nice. I’d recommend stopping after the first creek crossing unless you simply want to accomplish something difficult. We lost a bit of our souls out there but we grew as people. Good luck.

Totally worth the hike Bring sun block Bug spray Plenty of water Swim suit Water shoes

The cave is worth visiting. Kinda questionable stairs but worth the risk. Just hold on to the railings well.
