We attempted to do this hike twice: both times it was foggy, so we decided to wait. I downloaded an app, called “Windy” which had a web cam onto the lake and once it showed a clear image - we went out! The hike started really great with warm sunny weather, clouds came in around 2pm and it got very windy and foggy. Sweater and rain jacket came to rescue!! Good trail, not very easy, but rewarding! The views are spectacular.

Some of the tracks on the map are washed out and not passable anymore. You can Find a alternate way by following the larger sandy trails. Some of the smaller downhill sections are proper MTB tracks with banked curves and jumps. Not any good for a casual cyclist!

Great Trail with quite a few scenic spots. You might get the chance to see some wildlife such as deer and boar. Be prepared for some climbing and do take the extra energy to go to the peaks and admire the sights. They’re worth it!

Moderate 3.5hr walk from Faro airport to a campsite in nearby town. Remote dusty roads, beachside paths, and suburban areas.

Caminho é plano com vistas magníficas para o mar e para o monte. De fácil execução, à exceção de alguns troços na zona da Gelfa que tem árvores caídas e mato, ligeiramente, denso. Ótimo para levar animais de companhia.

A nice hike along wetlands. Very flat and good for bird watching. Interesting salt flats and a small Roman ruin that was used to ferment and salt fish.

Commencer par le levadas de Moinho (derrière église) et revenir par la levadas Nova. A la cascade eviter les escaliers qui grimpent en allant chercher le chemin au fond de la rivière.

Flat path used mainly by cyclists. Plenty of parking at the start. We left the car and walked to Fuseta for lunch. Great fish at Cafe by marina. Good walk back to car / recommend for a easy 6 miles.

This was a nice hike, although we wouldn’t recommend it for anyone over 6 feet tall as the trail was extremely overgrown and much of the time was dedicated to bushwhacking. This shouldn’t dissuade someone from trying it out out however detracts a bit from the hike. That being said, the views are breathtaking, the trail is secluded, very very private, and there are times of shade and sun although as you get closer to top it becomes much more exposed. Definitely a good shot to try and I hope that in the future the trail becomes better maintained. Lastly, as a matter of tips to future climbers we ended up picking up the trail from the point that we ended on the map we didn’t hike the entire trail. All in all we did about 4 miles I have uploaded a few pictures that reference the starting point for us as well as some areas we thought would be useful to point out Good luck and enjoy!
