Absolutely stunning hike. Me and my partner started at 12 and finished at 6pm but we done the extra extension to visit the inferno which was absolutely more than worth it! Would totally recommend this trail is stunning. Its strenuous and the steps up to the inferno are intense, but a really enjoyable hike! Ps. Ignore my recording, power saving mode was on and it obviously didn't work

Start with the levadas of Moinho (behind the church) and return by the levadas Nova. At the cascade, avoid the stairs climbing up the path to the bottom of the river.

What a trip! we took this trail in mid-November and it was a real treat. Incredible view after incredible view. Unfortunately it was foggy when we got to the top and it never cleared but the views on the way up were absolutely breathtaking. We did the hike in around 4 hours total (stopped to take in the views and get some pics frequently). Most of the trail is moderate, but pace yourself. You'll need a good bit of energy to finish out. Also, 1,862 meters may not sound like much, but when you live 150 meters above sea level, you notice the lack of oxygen. Great trail, great hike, absolutely would do it again.

Very nice trail, easy for the majority of it (the exception being the final approach to Pico Juliana, with loose rocks on a steep path, almost a climb). Beautiful view of the island, I would recommend this trail to any hiker visiting Porto Santo.

Itinerary that allows to make a loop with passage of tunnel. by cons compulsory application to find the less tourist routes

this hike is epic, one of the best we did on the island. the walk along the coast at high elevation is breathtaking. good option for when the high elevation peak hikes ( ruvio arieiro) have bad weather. I would recommend starting from the opposite side in Porto de cruz and skipping the levada walk section because it's rather average compared to the costal walk

this hike was incredible!! overall long hike mixed with a pretty intense elevation gain made it pretty difficult. the final climb on the way back to pico airieiro was tough. Views are absolutely stunning, best to start on a clear day and get there for sunset. lots of toilet paper and poops along the way.. not sure why so many people had to crap over the 6km stretch between ruvio and airieiro but perhaps too much poncha.

We hiked this trail at sunrise (started at 6:45am), with quite hard conditions: powerful wind and limited visibility due to the clouds. The conditions made it more challenging, but overall moderate trail, with challenging sections as you ascends the “Picos”. We finished the trail (return) in under 4hours and took breaks every now and then, and photos when we could. Waterproof Windbreaker jacket strongly recommended in this conditions. However, don’t get discouraged by by bad weather, it’s still a great trail to do!

Great hike, well sign-posted and relatively easy apart from the last ascension which is a bit steeper & harder on the knees. We completed it in 2hours with occasional picture breaks and stopping at the “casa do sardinhas” to use the bathrooms. Very nice views throughout.

Easy walks with beautiful views. No upheaval. Caution is needed;

Easy route.First 50min you go uphill (here without stops, I was on pause when you stop) .The road was wild not artificial when we went from pebbles elsewhere.On one side where it was sunny, it was too hot.On the higher winds.Very beautiful , but you need to climb up to a concrete pillar overlooking the valley ..;)

I recommend taking a walk along this route. We arrived by car to Curral das Freiras. At the restaurant we found a parking lot and left the car. all the way up the road (about 3km) until we reach the summit. Slowly climbing with stops for about 1,5h will take you ...;) Downhill you will descend faster .. :) Others come by bus to Eira do Serrado and descend..Small walks .. .;)

Great Trail - rather easy to hike. At the stop (Café) you could book a boat trip and continue your hiking route at the same point later in. Thus, a very flexible option, but it is a rather busy trail. The view is stunning.

A hike with tunnels, not too much shade, beautiful views and no problem for security.

Fun trail. I would rate it easy to moderate. Slightly windy of course but an amazing variety of views.

Splendid panoramas!

Loved the trails. Loved the views. Put please people, if you're going to take toilet paper, please please take a plastic bag and take the toilet paper with you again. The amount of toilet paper on the trail is pretty disgusting and takes away from this magnificent hike.

Good to walk on the concrete wall next to the levada. Some places dangerous because ravine next to the path and almost nothing to none protection. Not recommended with small kids or with dogs. We went to the first tunnel (1,5 hour walk) , tunnel too wet, and than went back. Other people went to the 2nd one. Beautiful view and vegetation.
