Amazing views. We took our time enjoying the magnificent show of the waves smashing against the cliffs. The creeks are very different from one another. We parked at Carrapateira where there’s a restaurant. There’s also another one before Praia do Amodo with stunning view or you can get an ice cream at the beach cash only. The way back is ok-ish; hot and sandy but is a lot faster as we didn’t stop. Due to covid we were almost alone on the hike.

Hands down the most incredible hike I've ever done. It is physically demanding as you have to go up and down many times and we were completed exhausted at the end.

we did this route in June/20, starting northwards from Esperança's church. Markings are recent and abundant, and we had no issue finding the right path at all times. it's Alentejo's nature in all its glory! we highly recommend it! Carlota&Manuel

Walking

My family and I walked the final 118km of the Central Portuguese Way, from Tui to Santiago, in August 2019. one of the best experiences of my life. Can't wait to go back!!!

Great trail! Love it. Be advised that there are some muddy sports, nothing risky but challenging.

Great hike!! worth the hard work. The views are amazing, take lots of water and a torch for the tunnels. Went during September 2019.

Great trail. Well maintained. View is magnificent. Make sure you wear a windbreaker. Even in a warm (70 degree) and sunny day, it can be very chilly because of the wind. The last 2 km is steep, ascend. Very hard. But the breathtaking 360 degree “mountain in the cloud” view at the top is well worth it. Took me 4 hours from Areirio to Pico Ruivo and 3.5 hours back. The hike takes lots of energy. Makes sure you bring enough water, energy bars or meat jerky. You will need them. There is restroom at Pick do Arieiro, 0.5 Euro per person. There is a store half mile from Pico Ruivo. Water is 2 Euro per 300ml bottle. Also a restroom there, 0.5 EURO.

This was a beautiful trail! I recommend walking this trail South to North to avoid having the sun in your eyes during the day. Parts of this trail were overgrown, but it's well signed and easy to follow. The views are spectacular!!

On the 2nd day of hike we appreciated the shorter route, varied scenery, and oh the paths so well marked. Thank you, to everyone who makes Rota Vicentina happen

Stunning views make everything worth it. Clearly marked paths brought relief every time we were not sure where to go. Cliffs, the ocean, birds, the wind. Thank you is not enough to describe how grateful I am.

Main trail to Risco and then on to 25 Fontes were quite busy. Couldn't complete the circuit as described on Alltrails due to some section being closed off. 25 Fontes were not too impressive due to little amount of water actually falling down. Perhaps best done after a wetter period, if they ever get one. Lagoe do Risco is much nicer proposition due to rougher trail and less people frequenting it. All in all a very mellow walk for resting your legs after some more strenuous mountain trails.

Really enjoyed this trail. We marked and in a 15km span you go from rolling hills with eucalyptus trees and numerous flowering gushes to seeing rolling waves in the distance to beautiful beaches and rocky cliffs. Great restaurant to have a coffee (or lunch) about 4 k in. We had a fantastic nature provided water fireworks with huge waves against the rocks. End were the sand dunes. So much diversity
