Beautiful trail, well maintained and not too steep. The terrain changes as you go and you get excellent views of the ocean, the town below, and Lake Fogo. Highly recommend!

Beautiful views of cliffs and ocean

Great easy trail along the coast. Scenic overlooks at every turn. Unfortunately cut short by a storm.

nice trail amazing views, not crowded on a weekend.

Very nice trail, absolutely worth it. Trail is 8.9 km according to my watch. Not much of a difference, but if you're in need of a toilet or planning to catch a flight its good to keep in mind

very nice loop through tunnel and with a very nice end with a waterfall. The signage is good, except for one which leads right over a cow pasture. As it was foggy and rainy that day, the mark was barely visible, so we ran past it and in the end we ran the trail contrary to the direction. fascinating is when you leave the first tunnel behind, the vegetation changes completely and you think you are immersed in another world. one of the tunnels gets pretty low at one point, so I had to get on all fours (with backpack, I'm 1.94m tall). otherwise very beautiful, impressive trail with a beautiful waterfall and beautiful places to pause and enjoy.

very nice circuit. starts steeply up to the summit. breathtaking views and beautiful landscapes. past lakes it goes on to Sete Citades. The way back is currently closed, but still can be done well (everyone has to decide for himself what he is doing at this point). the last part of the way is unfortunately right on the road along, which is moderately good, but OK. All in all a very nice circuit with beautiful views

Good variation of the terrain. Favorite part include walking through the volcanic riverbed and the windy paths along the farm fields. Some areas have tall grass so long pants are recommended.

This trail was epic. Must do on Sao Miguel - views at the top are sure to be incredible but we went during rainy season so it was muddy and the visibility wasn’t great but we loved the hike so much. Would do it again and will always remember it

Beautiful trail with a beautiful waterfall that I suspect is much better/stronger after a recent rain. Like a lot of the places on the island, it looks like Jurassic Park, without the dangerous animals. Bring a flashlight for the tunnels (I ended up using the one on my phone, which works in a pinch but I wouldn’t recommend it). If you hike this trail in the pouring rain, like I did, be aware that the tunnels will probably be flooded. There were also a few places on the trail that I had to walk through ankle-deep water (my socks were already soaked by this point, so I wasn’t too concerned). That being said, there weren’t any slippery/dangerous parts, so it was all in good fun.

It was rather moderate, because of the Road was a bit destroyed. But it was a nice trip.
