Gorgeous hike and just the right amount of intensity (steepness) for a nice, but sporty day trip. The scariness of the last ten or twenty meters to the summit (plus the descent) was unexpected as we had to climb using chains with a decent drop on the other side, but everything went fine in the end.

wonderful hike even if Mount Giewont was forbidden access to the summit. This is due to the accidental death in July of 5 hikers affected by lightning. the hike is very steep and difficult for novices. The show at the top is beautiful. I made a variant with another summit that reaches 2000 meters above sea level. I put 6 hours in total with meal break. On arrival we find a taxi very easily to return to the starting point

Challenging but enjoyable hike in the Polish Tatra mountains featuring a river and a historical feature - Part of this trail was Pope John Paul's favorite trail as a young man and there are some monuments to him along the way. Wild huckleberries and raspberries abound and are delicious. Expect Alpine conditions despite the realtively low elevations - The Tatra mountains are the lowest elevation Alpine mountains on earth. The valley is busy in the summer, but this route is a less so. You have the option to loop over to Wołowiec, the highest local peak if you really want a challenge, but this loop is a very good day. Poles are suggested for the descent, which has very steep sections.

difficult, but worth it

One way hike. It's possible to make a cirkel and go back at an other road but that one is difficult

I came from the Kuznice side, and then after summiting Giewont, went along the ridge to Kasprowy Wierch. Fairly easy hiking in the beginning and middle. It’s a nice rock path all the way up, and then the last kilometer is pretty steep. The view at the top gives you a gorgeous look at Zakopane on the left, which you don’t see at all along the hike I did, as well as the high mountains of the park to your right.

We did during the winter and it was gorgeous, don’t forget the spikes for the boots.

The main trail from entrance to just before the pond is flat and easy. The walk up to the cave entrance is not bad, a little rocky that’s all. The cave temperature is 6 degrees and now it costs 4 zł per person. It’s a one way cave and in parts very narrow and slippery so be prepared. Don’t enter in shoes without grip and without a jacket/jumper. Not much to see inside however, when you exit the view is beautiful and because it’s a one way trail you must pass through the cave to see it. The trail recommend leaving it last but that makes no sense, if you want to see it or the beautiful valley view after, take the first turn towards the cave. You will rejoin the main path after. The pond is beautiful, a brief rocky hike, nothing too difficult. There is a side trail loop half way through, something with Krakow in the name, estimated to take 1h but be prepared for climbing with chains on slippery rocks. The walk over the rocks on this loop trail is beautiful, something different and more challenging from the main path.

Absolutely love this trail! Disclaimer, do not attempt this trail if you aren’t looking for a good workout. Most of it is quite steep and very rocky. This was my favorite trail in tatra. Breathtaking views of the mountains and forestry. The hike begins at a trail through the woods made of large rocks as steps alongside a stream. At the end of the woods, the trail opens up to an incredible view all along the remaining path to the summit, with offtrail opportunities for rock climbing. (This probably isn’t safe but we did it anyway). Saw some goats, small wildflowers, and a bit of snow at the top. On the other side, lovely views on the rocky path back down into the valley. It rained on our way down, and the rocks became very slippery. Would recommend climbing stick for the descent. Overall, a good workout and breathtaking views.

Beautiful mountains. Great hike.
