Paid fifty solis for the trip from Huaraz. Turns out I should have bought direct from Esperanza Tours for thirty-five solis!

Bus left at 5:00am. Ugh. They stop for breakfast at a charming little establishment in the hillside heading up to the trailhead. You can buy lunch sandwiches there as well.

Arrived at the trailhead at about 8:45am. 3900m, or about 12,800ft.

Hike was amazing, between Huarascan which is the highest peak in the Peruvian Andes, and Chacraraju. Hike is up to 4600m, or a little over 15,000ft. Four miles up and four miles back.

Hiking time is 2.5-3.5 hours up, 1:45-2:15 hours down. Trail is in great shape. The altitude is tough if you are not acclimated.

Expect many other hikers, as this is the most popular day hike in the Cordillera Blanca. Very worthwhile day, all for US $12!
