This is a beautiful area to explore. The trails are very clearly marked as you walk alongside the lakes and river. Most of the trail is fairly flat, but there are some areas with a fairly steady incline. There is plenty of forested areas to walk through.Show more

With its breathtaking landscapes, the Elan Valley is a hidden gem located in the very heart of Wales. This 10km trail takes you past the Garreg Ddu reservoirs and the climb is slightly moderate suitable for walking and running. The scenery is outstanding and the reservoir dams created a beautiful picture with lovely walks, bike tracks and waterfalls. It's ideal for a day out with the family and friends. Although the reservoirs are too deep and steep-sided to attract much wildlife, the surrounding oak woodlands have an abundance of wildlife, plantlife and birdlife. Ravens, buzzards, peregrines and red kites can all be seen overhead, while great crested grebe and goosander breed on the water. Show more
