I really enjoyed this walk. I’m not sure how accurate the map is but you take a steep climb up Craig ddu ridge, follow the ridge up to corn du, pen y fan then down Jacobs ladder. You will then have two more climbs-up to the top of the crybin then fan y big.

Car park is £2 on the trail side of the road. Did anti-clockwise per the suggestion here. I thought there were better views on the first have when done this way. But pretty good all around, it's more of a steep mountain climb/descent on the second half. Definitely worth the whole round trip. Fairly easy to follow the path, just need to know when it splits.

really lovely, took 5 hours to complete

There is an organised event each year called the Abergavenny 3peaks trial which supports the Longtown mountain rescue. This event is usually held the Saturday day the clocks change to BST. Last Saturday March. I've done the Gold. Route for a good number of year's.

An absolutely beautiful walk in the Dan-yr-Ogof area (excellent caves) that rewards with beautiful views and a high level lake that features in The Mabinogion and fantastic views. Beautiful in the warmer months but can be treacherous if caught up in blizzard conditions with winds that can easily take you off the top of the ridge so be especially prepared if you venture up in the colder months as it can very easily and relatively quicky turn bad weather-wise.

Excellent trail... first mountain and wasn’t disappointed. Will definitely be returning to do the 10 mile trail next.

Great hike with a steep rocky ascent. After this though the trail is much easier. Saw lots of wild ponies at dusk

Fantastic and challenging route.

Fantastic views all the way round, this is one of my favourite walks but is very exposed if you get caught in rain. I’d recommend coming down Dragons back as there are some very steep sections so do this circular route in an anti-clockwise direction. Need to have a decent level of fitness and walking poles may be useful for the climbs and steep descents. Also some muddy sections on the bridleway on early part of walk.

Tough little hike. Worth the climb though. Should hit Pen y Fan after Corn Du.

I do this walk every year, absolute stunner of walk!

We did this walk during storm Hannah which was a bit sketchy but it’s a beautiful areas with great views from the top, you walk through pretty woodland as well.

Challenging but super rewarding walk! If you’re lucky you ll see wild ponies too

Absolutely stunning place.. it’s definitely not an Easy walk but worth it!

shows a few reservoirs. nice woodland trails into gated fields with sheep. very good views from one of the valleys below. theres about a 4k incline which brings you up to the highest elevation. the walk is 20k we took the wrong turning down a road on the way back down but we ended up going through a nice wooded area for about 2k which brought us back to our car . This walk must be planned for good weather. mixture in terrains

beautiful place to vist with so much to explore. very rocky paths and some steep steps and drops. alot of people hog all the good spots so my advice would be to get their early take plenty of water. I cant wait to go back.

Warning! It says moderate but believe me it’s a good workout! Working out which way to go is a real challenge at the start and in a couple of other points an the GPS seems slightly out and there are no tracks to follow a few times so you just have to head for the logical next point which is fine and entirely worth it. The views are spectacular and you get to spend plenty of time up high to enjoy them. Toward the end you have the great pleasure of being able to stand and admire the route you took as you gaze down the valley. Wonderful, rewarding and genuinely challenging.

Nice walk for a quick afternoon stroll

The views from. Here are amazing

Excellent walk

One of the best trails I’ve ever done!! Great scenery and only a local would be able to guide you through all these pathways.

Fairly short but a decent hike with a fair incline. Lovely walk through the woodland and great views across the valley when trekking across the top to the summit. Plenty of birds, wild flowers and great for dogs. Highly recommend.
