Lovely walk, my feet hate me!! We did the walk backwards so ended with a steep hill climb. Definitely a tough one but sooo worth the views

Great walk plenty of amazing views. I did it on a day when the cloud and rain rolled in just as we were hitting the peaks. But still very enjoyable and once you start to get away from Pen y Fan the numbers of walkers is much less

Really lovely walk. But not easy. Steep at points and really quite treacherous when wet.

We walked this with some alterations. Namely at the early point below the small reservoir, instead of following the trail back down the valley we climbed all the way up to to Beacon's Way and followed it down to rejoin the path at the Taff Trail section. I would thoroughly recommend this as it offers gorgeous views and a much more isolated walking experience. After the switchback up near Tolybont reservoir the hike takes you over some beautiful sheep and horse fields and was absolutely magnificent. Again, very isolated and some great places to stop to eat depending on the wind. The second alteration was towards the end when you reach the valley heading towards Pentwyn Reservoir we chose to stay up on the fire road rather than descend into the valley and cross the water. This means we avoided walking on the road and for to enjoy the last hour of sunshine that lit up the valley as we walked. I would really recommend this hike if you're getting into it and you want something a little more challenging with some good ascents. It was also great for me as it was my first time using a map and really helped me get to grips with using landmarks and contours to understand where I was. Take plenty of water, there weren't any sources or taps that I could see.

Pretty views but when you reach the bottom of the waterfall by the bridge the path is not really a path. Very difficult to climb, narrow, muddy, rocky, overgrown and hard to even find a path. Do not recommend.

Really enjoyed this hike! All of the highlights seemed be be well timed in my hike, so perfect pick-me-ups to get me round. This is definitely the right route direction as I met an ex ranger along the way and he said a few people skip the lower part but it's really worth doing first. Stunning views, could see for miles and all the way to the Gower too. Decent elevation and a nice mix of terrain, only loss of a star due to last hour's descent, a bit samey in the middle part but did make it an easy way down. Couldn't record/ tick it off as no signal on my phone :(

Lovely trail- starts with a section of climbing but tracks easy to follow and steps are good under foot. Combination of great climbs and lovely views. Got distracted by another walker’s dog and came down Pen-y-Fan the wrong way, so ended up climbing it twice. Did the route alone, and was comfortable throughout- nice and quiet but reassuring to know other walkers about too; especially as phone signal up and down for map use. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk, will return to run in the future.

Really disappointing as the bridge was closed so we did not get to see the lake side and had to go back the same way we came. And no warning about the bridge being closed

What a route, absolutely stunning. Not for the faint hearted, it is a hell of a trek with lots of steep inclines. But totally worth it - views are outstanding. Took us 5 hours rather than the 6 mentioned. Best walk I’ve done in forever.

A great trek taking in all the views from and of the four main peaks. Lots of steep climbs, with some scrambling, waterfall chasing, and high drops along the ridges with red kites putting on a great air display show. Plenty of parking at Blaen-y-Glyn Uchaf car park. Allow for plenty of daylight.

Beautiful walk with some steep sections. Wonderful views and mix of scenery, was able to have the dog off the lead most of the time. Only negative was that the steps down to the main waterfall were very slippery and it was really busy by the waterfall itself.

Great trail. Walk straight up to the summit from the car park. Stunning 360 views of the surrounding mountains. Watch out on the trail after you summit- not easy to see where you should turn left (following the long straight after the summit) to return towards the car park, and this bit is a bit precarious as you walk very close to the edge on a thin trail. Now we’ve done it will definitely do again.
